The first-ever falconry championship in the Eastern Emirate of Fujairah was inaugurated with a record number of participation and saw a number of records set.
The Maktoum AlSharqi Falcon Championship to promote heritage of falconry was inaugurated by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, the Crown Prince of Fujairah. The two-day event is organised and supervised by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center (HHC) at the Madhab area in Fujairah.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, stressed the importance of preserving the heritage of the UAE through customs and traditions inherited from parents and grandparents.
The championship was also attended by Sheikh Maktoum Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Fujairah Sports and Cultural Club, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Emirates Union for Bodybuilding and Fitness, Salim Al Zahmi, from the Crown Prince’s Office, and Suad Ibrahim Darwish, Director of Championships at HHC, and Mohammed Al Taniji, Chairman of the Organising Committee.
