I can’t make this stuff up if I tried. I’m not creative enough or intricate enough for this. •
Talking to my mom last night...we were saying how we could just FEEL that God was on the move. Lots of crazy stuff was happening, some of it legitimately CRAYYYYZY. Like...wtf crazy. •
I wake up this morning to Joshua 1:9 as the verse of the day for the @youversion Bible app. The verse that JUST so happens to be the verse that has tethered me to the ground for the last 6 months and also JUST so happens to be the verse that I TATTOOED on my BODY not 1 month ago. •
I’m already reeling from all of this...and I open up my daily devotional & THIS is what it says: “Dig deeper into who God has called you to be, ask the tough questions, and allow God to define you. Give God the final say on your third word. Only there will you find your true self.” ...”Deeper” just so happens to be my word of the year. •
I seriously...😳 I couldn’t make this stuff up if I wanted to. If you pay attention. REALLY CLOSE attention, you will see God moving. Continue to pray, be thankful always, be willing to receive what He has for you, and proclaim the goodness to the world...and you WILL see Him move mountains. •
Jesus, I see you. 🙌🏼
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)
So many of our emotions and decisions are fueled by fear—fear of what tomorrow holds; fear of not making the right choices; fear of coming up short; fear of not being enough; fear of anything that threatens *our* plan for our lives; fear of the evil in this world; fear of harm, sickness, or death. Fear is the enemy’s greatest tool, and he skillfully weaves it into the very fabric of our lives in nearly undetectable ways if we are not careful to guard against it.
Aside from eternal salvation, the most beautiful gift Christ offer us is freedom from bondage through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, which is God living inside of us. When we become believers, God takes up residence in our hearts and gives us the ability to trust Him wholeheartedly, choosing His Peace over the enemy’s fear. It isn’t an instant thing where the second you accept Christ, all fear from your life is gone and your heart is never troubled by anything ever again—our world has fallen too far for that, and while our Spirit becomes strong in Christ, our flesh is still weak. This is why it is so important to store up the treasures of God’s Word in your heart, because the Holy Spirit uses it in times of distress to guide and comfort us, so that when we start to feel fear ruling our lives, He can whisper to our minds, “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
This world is full of darkness, and the enemy will use fear to control you and keep you far away from God’s purpose for your life if you let him. But God is infinitely more powerful than the enemy, and His ways are so much higher than the world’s. When we put our full trust in Him, He guides us into His Peace, and that is a beautiful way to live. 🌿
“In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 17:33)
In these next few months, I will be graduating with my masters degree, taking my licensure exam, applying for (real) jobs, and trying to figure out where I am going to live. Basically trying to figure out how to be an adult and I feel like I have no idea what I am doing. .
Truthfully I am very anxious and have to make it an effort right now to have more faith than my fear. I have to remind myself that in all this uncertainty, I have friends and family who support me, but most importantly I have God who will be by my side the whole way. .
So I may not know what I am doing but because of God, it will all work out.
“I’ve commanded you to be brave and strong, haven’t I? Don’t be alarmed or terrified, because the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."”
Joshua 1:9 CEB
Something I’ve always struggled with is being MINDFUL and being present in the moment. I think I’ve made a lot of progress, but I know there is still more room for growth!
I think it is common for many of us. We tend to think about the future and the past. Replay events in our heads. Worry about what might happen. Think about all that needs to get accomplished in our day. Our society is so fast paced sometimes it’s hard to stay in the present moment. One thing I’ve learned though, is that if I take 5-10 minutes in the morning to meditate + practice mindfulness activities I am able to be in the present a whole lot more throughout my day! 🙌🏻
“The mind is just like a muscle- the more we exercise it, the stronger it gets and the more it can expand.” 💫
This little journal along with my meditation app help me stay in the present moment! 🧘🏻♀️💭 Do you meditate or journal or practice mindfulness activities?
backbiting//talking bad about people is one of the most common transgressions. whether it be manifested through gossip or just a genuine attempt to express an opinion (or even a affirmable fact), it is pervasive throughout friend groups and often the problem that results in fractured relationships⠀
in the Qur'an, gossiping is described as "eating the flesh of your own brother" (49:12).... a disgusting and heinous act that damages the life of your brother/sister and damages your own morality. ⠀
it's very hard to distance yourself from backbiting//talking bad, and i haven't figured out how exactly to do that yet. i do actively try to avoid engaging in gossip/backtalk, but oftentimes i find myself filling in awkward conversations with this meaningless conversation.... and afterwards, i feel overwhelmingly guilty. ⠀
this week, i challenge you (and myself) to go without backtalking. be cognizant of when it is occuring around you, and feel comfortable not engaging in it, even if that results in an awkward situation. ⠀
“Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful.” -proverbs 16:20
I am at a point in my life to where I am excited to get up each morning... to see my growth, and to push myself.
Making time for myself has been a huge deal, and by filling my cup, I am able to give back to my family, and my friends.
Live your life, and love yourself. 💕
We’ve had a lot on our hearts lately and, after a lot of prayer, we want to share it with you.
Vulnerability of this degree can be intimidating, but I really believe that having these conversations and breaking the silence can help bless others.
My story about our recent miscarriage is posted on the blog. Thank you for your support and love.
From the outside looking in, you wouldn’t have any idea how we are still pushing through. In the last 3 months you’ve seen us get married, lose my father, and now see my husband endure brain surgery in which a tumor was removed from his head; All while expecting our baby girl to arrive next month. On some days I have no idea how even I am getting myself out of bed. Oh but the difference is I KNOW where my help comes from. Seeing my husband like this almost brought me to tears but he’s a fighter and he KNOWS I need him here when our daughter arrives. He is recovering well but for now we are living in a hospital. I thank God for all He’s done for us and I look forward to watching my daughter grow as a resilient black queen just as she has helped me endure every storm while still in my womb. God is faithful. #TheStantonStandard#faithoverfear#hesafighter#myhusbandmadeitout#imsoproudofhim#babyNoelle
change of pace + change of place = change of perspective.
Perspective changes everything. If you haven’t been to a 3rd world country yet, I highly recommend going on a mission trip. I’m taking a team with me next January. Could this be your trip?
I’m getting trained this week for my volunteer coordinator role to help families in Nicaragua. I can’t wait to get back to them + pigs on leashes. 🤷🏼♀️
What if faith doesn’t feel the way we thought it would?
Recently, I’ve been wondering if I actually believe everything I’ve been teaching others (scary few weeks, right?!).
I asked God about what all this means and this is what I thought I heard, “Can you live what you believe when it’s hard? When what you believe doesn’t reap the rewards you expected can you still be faithful?”
That’s when I realized I’ve been asking myself the wrong question, “How is life turning out?” I should have been asking (cue the Wonder Woman sound track), “What do I believe?”
Because if I believe God:
- has good things for me
- finished what He starts
- delivers on His promises
I will stay in the story, BY FAITH, not by results.
That’s why, sometimes, by faith doesn’t feel faithful.
Faith is not a feeling.
...it’s a blind thing.
...it’s a believing thing.
...it’s a desperate thing.
...it’s a trust thing.
...it’s a choice thing.
By faith is by resolve. It defies the obvious and clings to belief.
In other words, if you feel like you’re hanging on by a thread, just grasping at doing what’s right because you can’t really think of anything else to do, be encouraged - that actually may be what real faith is...a desperate resolve clinging to what you believe.
If you’d have told me a few months ago that I would be getting up six days a week at 4:30am to workout, I would have openly laughed in your face! Back in the day, I used to be a morning person. I had no trouble getting up and was a fairly cheerful person in the morning. Then…….we had kids. My kids were not the best sleepers. Well, let me rephrase. They slept great through the night, but no matter what time they went to bed, they were up by 4:30am for the day. I began to resent the mornings. I was exhausted. I felt like I had no time to myself so I would stay up super late just to have some quiet. I could just sit and stare at the wall as long as I didn’t have to think at all. Mornings were work. Mornings included lots of coffee. I struggled to get out of bed. If I tried to get a little more sleep and pretend they weren’t awake, the Mini would climb over and open my eyelids. Who wouldn’t hate getting up in the mornings?
Fast forward to the present, my sweet little cherubs get to snuggle with daddy (which in turn keeps them asleep a little longer) and I get to wake up on my own. I come downstairs, brush my teeth, eat my pre-workout meal, and read. All in silence. It really helps to get me prepared for the day. I get my workout in and then bam! My mood is lifted and I have had some time where I can feel like I am functioning like an actual human being.
Sure, not every morning is as peaceful and I sometimes I have to pause my workout to get my kidlets more water or turn Justin Time on for the bazillionth time, but I wouldn’t trade these moments for anything.
1. 1. complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
I think about faith a lot. Because it’s in everything I do. I have faith I am going to be consistent with my goals this year. I have faith that my true passions will flourish. I have faith that my finances will be stable. I have faith that the hardest moments of my life are soon to pass. But all this can’t be possible without having faith that God will come through for me, and provide. And oh boy...won’t. He. Do. It. .
When I said to myself there is no turning back, and that I will not allow the critics to say, “I TOLD YOU THAT WOULDN’T WORK” that is when we exploded, what is your motivation???? #faithoverfear#repost @financial_freedom98 thank you!!!

Remember just because they are around you doesn't mean they are for you. If they only make a withdrawal and never a DEPOSIT that's not a relationship. They are tolerating you!
Many keep you around to be dream blockers
What if you actually stepped out and chased that vision? What if you actually see the manifestation of the promise ? Not everyone truly wants you to SHINE !! Your DREAMS are to BIG or CRAZY to them. Some desire you to just stay , content doing the same as they are even less then.
You were not created for MEDIOCRITY, AVAERAGE OR ORDINIARY You are EXTRODINARY! YOU don't believe me check your DNA! I pray that you will allow yourself to be GREAT ! Not Tolerated instead SHINE for God to get the glory because you are his great MASTERPIECE.

Jesus, my hope today is to reach the hearts that have not yet encountered Your love, so that they can receive You and accept You as their Savior. Please, Jesus, speak this scripture to our hearts, just as You spoke it to the disciples. So many of us live in disabling fear, but our Father sent You so that we can be freed from that disability! When we choose faith over fear, You ground us. Sure, we will all still have the daily challenges to contend with, but You offer us peace, rest and strength when we abide in You. Help us to see You as our hope, our light in the darkness. Life without You is distorted; scary; confusing; wicked. Thankfully, we can choose to welcome You into our daily living and follow Your example. Thank You for all You have to give us and teach us, Jesus. When we choose a trusting friendship with You, our lives will be forever changed. Help us to walk out on fear today, and step into faith with You. In Your name I pray. Amen. #john6v20#itisidonotbeafraid#hopeinjesus#faithoverfear#stepintofaith#jesuschangeseverything#darktolight#thankyoujesus#followsun78
Feeling a little out of balance today? Or lacking energy & can’t concentrate but you really wanna finish a task?
Try the pose pictured here, warrior 3 or Vira Bhadrasana 3
It is pretty challenging to hold or even to get into it.
But it’ll bring your awareness into the now, in no time! You’ll be focused, you’ll calm your breath & mind, you’ll strengthen your willpower & you’ll be prepared for whatever is still ahead today.
Do this on each leg for 3-5 long cycles of breath & you’ll find yourself more balanced & more energized & more focused! 💪😃🙌
