May I get a little personal? I don't often do this, but today it feels needed. Last week I went on a short trip with family and had a blast hiking and exploring, while being disconnected from the world. I already miss it so much and being back to normal life has filled me with anxiety. You may not know that in 2020 I'm planning to travel full time. Zoe and I are buying an RV and exploring the northwest USA and Canada. I have proclaimed 2020 The Year of Zoe. My anxiety this week was partly due to my increasing desire to be disconnected, but also the fear of taking that leap. If you know me, you know that I am not a big risk taker. But, when my mother passed away three years ago, it changed me. It is definitely the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with, but through it I became a better person and realized life is more than work and money. I'm so happy for this realization. I don't know many of you personally, but thank you so much for your love, support and kind comments. I'm happy to have you in my life. Thanks for sharing in my journey. ♥️
Winter is making its comeback here in Utah, and it sure is beautiful. This aerial was taken above the snowbird area by @jd.aerial, I love the stark contrasts, nicely done! (Selected by @darby003) keep sharing and tagging #wowutah & happy Sunday!
Rode out the worst of the cold snap in the Escalante Petrified Forest State Park. Escalante, UT.
$25/night for an electric + water campsite, or $17/night for dry camping in the winter. Dump station at park entrance. Shower rooms closed for winter. Sites are pretty small. Good camp hosts. 4 bars VZ 3G unboosted.
The Trail of Sleeping Rainbows has the best of the petrified wood examples in the region, and the cottonwood tree-lined Wide Hollow Reservoir is rated a top 25 bird watching spot in America. 🦅
Quick stop to see this beautiful view on our way back from Goblin Valley - from brown to white landscape, just like that! 😍 Not very long after I took this picture, we drove through a snowstorm! Hard to believe, isn’t it? #beautiful#utah
Enjoy your Sunday✨
This ranked at the top of many sunrises in my life. I think the freezing temperatures kept folks away so we had it all to ourselves for a bit. The color and glow reflected off the cliff was insane. I’m still in awe...
When winter shines bright light a diamond, frosty shoreline grasses sparkle with glittering droplets as the faint warmth of the sun touches their blades and morning rays glance off the facets in every snowflake.
