Installation and performative works from 'Thrown', currently on at @blankprojects, Cape Town
Pics 1&2 'Raw, (Thrown By This)' installation made from all the raw materials used in the making of my works. The installation gives time and space to the smaller things, which are the biggest things, the basis of absolutely everything, the minerals and materials making the earth and us
Pic 3 'Breaking And Breakthrough' installation from 'Working From The Inside', exploded in error in an experimental firing, now one of my favourite works and biggest lessons in 'taking punches to the gut'
Pics 4&5 from 'Fire From The Inside' formed from the body, fired from the inside in an experimental firing performance, in collaboration with #chrismorganwilson
Pic 6 Mud and blood, made around the body, from the body, high fired inside, 'almost raw' clay outside
Pic 7 Installation shot of part of the room with wild clay vessels
Pic 8, right, by @hashtag_blacknoise from the first 'Working From The Inside' Pics by @_morlot (thank you!) #exhibition#artexhibition#installation#installationart#experimentalart#southafricanart#sculpture#performance#performanceart#artandthebody#bodyness#claybodies#wildclay#claysculpture#southafricanearth
This is what sometimes happens when I get bored of cutting out an artwork. I reach for the closest thing that looks like it would be fun to cut out (in this case, some dried glue) and I start cutting. This is on a cd, because I put glue on a cd when I only need a little bit, instead of using a plate or palette.
