Masada, where in 72/73 AD the Jews made their last stand against the might of the Romans besieging the remote fortress hat overlooks the surrounding desert and the Dead Sea. When the Romans had finished building a massive ramp and a siege tower and were about to breach the walls, the 1,000 defenders, according to Romano-Jewish historian Flavius Josephus, killed themselves.
We spent an impressive afternoon on the plateau, looking at the excavations and listening to our guide.
Pompeii, Italy ~ "[F]or just one second, look at your life and see how perfect it is. Stop looking for the next secret door that is going to lead you to your real life. Stop waiting. This is it: there's nothing else. It's here, and you'd better decide to enjoy it or you're going to be miserable wherever you go, for the rest of your life, forever." -- Lev Grossman, The Magicians
Nostos Collectives Toronto is hosting a workshop in support of our upcoming show "EXCAVATIONS"! In our workshop, we will be exploring a variety of repertoire from our three new exciting works - "from Adam to ashes" by Tyler Angell, "soft music" by Irena Ponizova, and "HEAD OVER HEELS" by Emily Spearing and Gavin Law.
Not only will we be delving into physical movement, but also unravelling the themes and driving concepts behind each piece.
Repertoire will include challenging phrasework, floorwork, partnering (duets/trios), and group-based improv/explorations.

🇬🇧 Kakhovka reservoir looks calm but every year it destroys a piece of Mamai Gora. Let's save it before it's too late! 🚜
The remanants of the relics of the 4th Century CE.
A two storeyed structure with the second being built in Pale Limestone basilica, whose directions adhere to Jewish Law. This prayer hall has Ancient Greek inscriptions and preserved oranamental carvings on its walls.
Oddly, it was discovered only in 1838.
The Bible became a Treasure map for these excavations.
Behold what history has to reveal.
Just another #mosaicmonday
