Emotion regulation recipe
I was always ready to react. Understanding how to slow down the process changed the way I live and enjoy life.
According to the book Discovering Psychology, "An emotion is a complex psychological state that involves three distinct components: a subjective experience, a physiological response, and a behavioral or expressive response." As I like to remember it~ emotion= energy in motion.
We receive information(energy), that makes up the subjective experience, as it is translated by our nervous system into physical and mental experience.
Instantly, we are equip to respond. A process that happens within milliseconds. It is here where mastering filters becomes the most important tool. ✨The capacity of our manager(the brain) is to activate from memory the most effective response. As the busy animals we are, it is our duty to provide daily supervision to all our processes and clear out(discern) information- unconcious and subconcious- so that when an emotion comes our way we are attending to it and filtering out what is not present, allowing our heart and mind to tune in an create a coherent reaponse. 💞Connect with your code.
