We took it slow over spring break, but we're back on the grind today. So is the rosemary we use in our savory #italianblend ! It gets run through a coffee grinder in small batches. Opening the whole rosemary leaf up right before it goes into this blend boosts the flavor and freshness. Plus you won't bite into a hard, thin dried rosemary leaf. So, there's that. #spicesavvy#viewfromthemixingtable#wedospices#eathappy#thehappyeaterco
Grilled sweet-chili lime shrimp, and a kick of sriracha come together in our Shrimp Sriracha Taco. Stop by Border Grill on Third Street for this exclusive and a number of other unmatched menu selections!
Homemade Pumpkin Seed Milk | Soak 1 cup of pumpkin seeds overnight. Drain in the morning. Add 4 cups fresh water, a pinch of salt, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and 2 tablespoons maple syrup. Blend for a minute or so and enjoy 🥛I haven’t made homemade nut/seed milks a regular habit because I don’t love the process of straining them through a nut milk bag. @sproutedkitchen has a great homemade nut + seed milk guide that makes the process seem so much more simple and sustainable! You just can’t beat the taste of the homemade stuff!
What is going on with the weather!?! 😭 It's so confusing 3 days ago I was outside in a vest and the last 2 days Its been freezing 😒 it snowed!! In March!? I bought ingredients for a soup and now the sun is out in full force again and I want a salad 🙈
There was a time when I would have much more street food and desi khaana in Mumbai, always hot and fresh - never eat raw in India was the rule. But now, you get salads like this, fresh well-washed and delicious, quite a treat considering it was only a few years ago that anyone from abroad would avoid salads! This here, as colourful as it is, might look like a salad I could get anywhere and while that might be true, there’s something special about Kala Ghoda Cafe. It is something of an institution and the first few years I walked in I wondered how I could sit in such a tiny cramped cafe where every table was filled. Only last year my friend took me through the secret door to the back, a cafe or restaurant triple the size, but still wonderfully ambient and lively. The food is delicious, the kind of cafe you can sit and work from, the kind of cafe that represents the artistic area it’s located in. Onto the eating - the coffee is their own blend grown in the south of India, all sugar used is organic jaggery, their ‘desi’ waffles are made with a mix of amaranth, millet and brown rice, and crumbled atop this wonderful salad is South Indian goat’s cheese. Everything is locally sourced, seasonal and fresh. The strawberries 🍓 in this reminded me of the Indian Summers Salad in my book - can’t wait to make this at my Yoga Brunch on Saturday @rawpressco with @lily_silverton ❤️ few tickets left - check the link 👆 xx

N°2: #Ispahan Tiramisù. When she and I went to Nice, France, we stumbled across #PierreHerme macarons and haven’t forgotten them since. The Ispahan flavour macaron of lychee, rose and raspberry was stunning and has lingered in my mind since, and I got inspired to combine two of my favourite desserts; I’m so happy how it’s come out!
P.S. if you’ve never tried lychee, please do, it’s delicious!
Next up: a new fusion, with warming spice... ✨
