I think too many of us play it safe; we settle for a life that's comfortable.  And that's fine as long as you're also happy.  But if you're not happy then what's the point of playing it safe?! Seriously.

In Korea I made a very successful boxing club in Korea, was loaded with sponsors, had 3 dogs, 3 vehicles, and a husband.  Then, on a Tuesday afternoon, with my suitcase packed, I got up and left it all behind with little to no notice. I kissed my husband one last time and I told him I was done with Korea, with him, with my life there. I wasn't happy and I hadn't been happy for awhile.  I had settled for a life so many envied but knew so little about -- a life that had become so unhappy and unhealthy. •

I tell you this not for you to feel sorry for me or to toot my own horn but to inspire you.  For starters, there's nothing to feel sorry to me about.  I knew what was going on in Korea was wrong.  I should have woman-upped a long time ago but I justified it with the fact that I absolutely loved my boxing club and leaving my life in Korea, leaving him, meant leaving my club.  It had become my entire life.  I'm not a child though, I knew better and I knew right from wrong.  There was no fairy tale prince that was going to save me and I was no princess so I became the hero in my own story.  I had to.

Now I'm living in the Philippines, starting life all over again and, ya, it's tough but I have no regrets.  If I wanted to be comfortable and settle, I would have stayed in Korea or I would have stayed in Canada.  But would I have been happy, not pursuing my dream?! No. •

Life is difficult, I get it, and what I'm doing makes it even more difficult but I am not the first person who's done this, taken a massive leap of faith.  There were others before me and there will be others after me.  I can't promise I'll succeed here but you best believe I'll give it all I got because I'm committed to becoming the person I want to be.  I absolutely refuse to go back to a similar life I had, one that was unhappy and unhealthy... one where I settled for less than I deserved. One where I couldn't be what I wanted to be.

Calories in... rock climbing, snowboarding, dancing, weight lifting, running, hiking, cycling, etc OUT.
