✨N E W P O S T✨ my Friday & Saturday nights looked a lot more like this in the month of January after making a conscious decision to start 2018 off completely sober. i wanted a chance to detox, rest, rejuvenate, & ultimately see what cutting out alcohol would do for my anxiety. how did it go? head over to bananasandbellinis.com [link in bio] to find out! ☕️
In June 2015 I went to my local music festival. A small fry event called @glastofest I hadn’t been in a few years due to having one of those things that kills off your social life...a baby. So my husband and I went in full pelt - it was his first Glasto and we were loving life. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we got back I had an epic hangover. I’m talking week long. I thought this was strange because although there was that box of wine during @yearsandyears , I didn’t really drink *that* much. Then again through pregnancy and breastfeeding I probably hadn’t drunk at all since my wedding day.
Turns out it was my daughter causing me all the drama and not the ghost of Glastonbury past. I was pregnant. Since having my daughter I’ve really got into fitness and when you’re trying to shift the pounds alcohol is not your friend.
I’ve had a little rant for @foodrush about how some people don’t like it when you aren’t drinking. Why is that? Does it comfort them when you join in? I don’t mind if you drink all the wine to get through - go for it! For me I will have it as and when. Owning your choices is key 🔑 link in bio 👍🏻——————————————————————
Meet our very own Marilyn Monroe aka Victoria Modo Ambassador Charmaine Niebergall! Charmaine decided to use Modo in the most giving and creative way recently. A dear friend of hers who is battling breast cancer wanted to celebrate winning at her first rounds of chemotherapy with a costume Hollywood theme party for her friends. Charmaine had decided to try a dry January and thought that offering herself up as the designated driver for the night would be a lovely thing to do. Here she is all dressed up with her snazzy little Modo - #806 (2016 Honda Fit). Look for her post on the blog! http://modo.coop/blog/guest-post-charmaine-niebergall-marilyn-monroe-modo/ #victoria#modoeverywhere#letsmodo#designateddrivers#dryjanuary#marilynmonroe#yyj#carsharing#modoambassador

Sober day, productive day, but another rough day. Idk what is going on but I'm kinda hoping it's the keto flu. 😆😆 Totally prepared for this upcoming week though.
But, this is a lesson I've learned a lot this week. The past is something to be learned from. You shouldn't camp there. All the feelings and just and anger may be there but you shouldn't be. There is absolutely nothing you can do to change the past but you can build a better future. This is what I will work and focus on this week.
I DID IT!!! 31 days sober - not a drop! I’ll admit there was one or two little clucks for a glass of wine along the way but overall I’m actually quite amazed at how little I craved alcohol and that I hardly struggled with not touching the wine in my flat...! This month has shown me how much happier I am without alcohol, my mind is sharper, my evenings have been more productive as I’m not constantly going ‘nah I’ll do I tomorrow’ because I’ve already had a glass of wine and settled into the sofa for the evening. I just feel more positive and ‘in control’ of my thoughts (well mostly anyways!) I also don’t feel bloated and in the process of staying dry have saved myself £150... !! For someone who has never tried to not drink before and was all for a glass of wine to mark the end of a busy day, it’s totally flipped my relationship with booze and I honestly plan to have a booze free house from now on.. I’m not cutting out the drink completely but looking forward to having many many more sober days going forward 🙏🏻❤️ #dryjanuary#sobriety#ididit#boozefree#moneysaver#happy
