Love this setup!! 😍
Who else has their cymbals up quite high? I find that moving about the kit is so much easier when your ride cymbal is high and angled. It allows me keep my right hand low and creates more space for me to move about the toms. I also really enjoy a two ride set up, it just gives me more options and another position to play grooves from.
What's your set up? What big changes have you made that either worked out or didn't? 🤔
For the drum fill this week, Ash is playing four of the linear fills some of my students learned for February. The drum beat is inspired by Steve Gadd and the idea of the fills was to introduce some linear drumming to my students. I think one of the coolest parts of linear drumming is learning how to incorporate the bass drum into fills. It can add such a great new dimension to anyones drumming and so many great drummers like Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta, Eric Moore, Thomas Lang, Tony Royster Jr., and Chris Coleman all use linear fills in their drumming. In the second page you can see all four fills with the sheet music. Trying playing all four fills in a row, it is pretty fun and very challenging. Let me know how it goes. Ash did a great job demonstrating the fill this week. #drumlessons#dynamicdrumschool#drums#drumfilloftheweek#drumfill#drumfillmonday#lineardrumming
