Top attempts shown ➡️➡️➡️ Wow, what a day! This meet turned out far better than I expected in so many ways. I went 9/9 for the first time, and I hit PRs on every lift and my total. But it would have been a great meet regardless of how well I did. @murderofcrowsbarbellclub with @usapowerlifting put together a fantastic event this weekend with so many talented lifters and just plain awesome people. I couldn't be more proud to be a team member at MoC. Big time thanks to my coach @barbellsandcats for working with me these past three months, and also huge props to @squatsinthecurlrack and @nthomas90 for handling us today and calling my attempts. As always, huge thanks to my long distance training partner and great friend @_subtle_beast who dominated his own weight class today and set a few PRs.
On to the numbers! I made every attempted lift and only got one red light for my butt leaving the bench the entire time. I ended up with:
Body Weight: 80.6kg/177.7lbs
19/02/18 - 3/3 -
Last part of today's child abuse: just building confidence again with a 3 count tempo + pause. Worked up to 115kg & felt easy af 🍃👌🏾 -- Felt amazing after today! Cant wait for the next microcycle....not really for the volume days & the not-so-powerful-power days after. But well.....boring matters 😅💩
19/02/18 - 2/3 --- Second part of this recovery day: My main weakness on my squats = bar path & staying tight going down into the hole. Hence these tempo squats up to 165kg. 3 count today. -
Everyone counts different....this time big boy karl had me at 3....2...........................1! 😂😂😂 ---- Bodyweight 7 day average @ 61.04 👌🏾👌🏾
Today I learned just how important it is to move my body, no matter how I'm feeling. 💨
There's a cold front moving into southern California and with pressure from weather changes being my worst pain trigger I was hurting pretty bad this morning. The combination of joint swelling, #fatigue , and muscle stiffness sent me back to bed after just being awake for an hour. While resting I could feel my muscles harden even more. After a nap I decided to attempt my daily walk, even if I had to cut it short. To my surprise, especially since I felt like the tin man from The Wizard of Oz, my muscles began relaxing as I walked and I managed to complete the full 1.65 mile walk that I usually do. Even more surprising was that I was able to reach my goal of 10,000 steps a day by walking around my house by 6pm. Alternating #PEMF therapy with #OskaPulse between my spine and knee kept the swelling and pain from increasing which made it possible to reach my daily goal despite the what the weather was doing to my body and I am in less pain than I was this morning.
Take that #fibromyalgia , #Psoriaticarthritis , #psoriasis , & #degenerativediscdisease !
This #WhereWillMyFeetTakeMe moment was made possible by Oska Pulse from Oska Wellness.

Today three years ago I woke up for the first time since I was a teenager not hungover or still drunk from the night before. I woke up with hope of a better life, I had to slowly learn how to deal with life again. Needless to stay something stuck with help and support I celebrate how far I’ve come from that person I used to be. Thank you everyone who’s believed in me and supported me and teaching a better way of life! Thanks @kelleelise for the coins, that little piece of bronze means a whole lot more than its physical form! #sobriety#aa#alcoholfree#drugfree#happy#happyjoyousandfree#lovelife#love#cleanandsober#bestgirlfriend#soberlife
Just incase you didn't make a big enough show of yourself whilst you were blackout drunk! 😵👊🏽
If loosing your phone, keys & dignity wasn't equal to a smack in the face with an offensively stinking shitty nappy, & if coming round next to someone you wouldn't normally touch with a fucking barge pole (like your ex!) didn't give you a nasty 'wake up' call, your body tries it's utmost best to give you one last extreme reminder that you're poisoning yourself, have venom running through your veins & therefor living a toxic life. This comes in the form of the dreaded debilitating hangover from hell, with free beer fear & an unlimited supply of anxiety, leaving you hanging out of your arse & feeling fucking rotten.com. BORK!!! 😷💩☠️
You'd think this no holds bared shock to the system would be the final nail in the coffin, & the kiss of death needed to bring us to our senses after just one nauseating thrashing. But alas NO. If I had a $ for every time I uttered the words "I'm never drinking again!", only to be drinking that very same day, I'd be a fucking millionaire at the very least! 😩⚰️💸
I forgive myself for all the obscene acts of crime I've committed against myself, for I finally know why I couldn't stop...I'm an addict. If you're not an addict though & you choose to continue treating your body this way, then I'm afraid the diagnosis for you isn't good & unfortunately there's no known cure either...you're just a fucking idiot! 🙄😂
Nothing beats waking up clean & serene, feeling fresh as fuck, especially on a Monday morning! Fresh week, fresh start! Another chance to put right last weeks mistakes, start slaying your goals & to continue on your journey of becoming the best version of you. It's a beautiful fucking day to be a sober Badass! Who's with me??? 😎💪🏽🙌🏽
I've been homeless. I've been abused. I've been the abuser. I've had cancer, and I survived that shit. I've been incarcerated. I've been an addict. Every drug I could I find, and buy. I've been the alcoholic. AA and NA. I've cursed God. But, I never forget the parts of the story where, I've been a good husband. I've never gone back to prison. I've been drug free a long fucking time. Over a decade. I'm addicted to winning. I've been a good dad, I hope. We'll see. I've owned my own business, almost 7 years, now. I talk to God, more than I talk to anyone else, including myself... and, I have bi-polar "disorder", unmedicated. So when I tell a motherfucker to hunker down, dig deep, hold strong... I mean that shit, because I know what it means. I still don't have my shit together. Probably never will. But, the distance I've come... I learned, and lived, every step. . IF YOU GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS, WHAT'S LEFT?

Meal prep is NOT difficult or costly, but it is time consuming and honestly a little annoying to complete every week. I’m not particularly fond of it, but i try to make it as painless as possible by eating the same thing for 7-10 days and playing music or watching tv while working. After prepping for years (and meal planning [rarely weighing/being less strict] for years before that), my best tips for an easier meal prep are as follows:
1. Take one day to plan out meals (with quantities) and make a list, another to grocery shop, and a third to cook (bulk cook proteins and carbs - extra can go in freezer). You can take another day (after the cooking day) to measure, if you are short on time on the cooking day.
2. Get a second fridge - even a mini fridge is helpful. I prefer to cook and measure on the same day for 7-10 days so this is really useful for storing the 50+ containers.
3. I have made the mistake of prepping veggies for a week. This is gross because they get slimy, so don’t do that. Prep vegetables 3 days at a time. Frozen and/or steamables help a lot if you are busy!
4. Keep as many goods dry as possible, e.g. whey and oats, but you can portion them out in baggies for weeks in advance and then make the night before. Saves fridge room and decreases containers needed.
5. Know how big your lunchbox is and plan accordingly with the right sized containers. This sounds dumb, but it’s important!
1️⃣606lbs for a new California state record 💥DRUG FREE💥
2️⃣622lbs 🔴⚪️🔴 💔
The 622 felt so damn good & it’s so bittersweet to have it not count because I KNEW I had that weight without a doubt in my mind. Shout out to @uspapower @uspacalifornia for holding drug tested competitions, even though “drug tested” doesn’t always mean drug free, everyone else better bring it because you know I am.
