February I dropped my calories to 1880 and worked out more intensely.
Result: 7 pounds lost.
March I stayed at 1880 but pulled a back muscle and missed nearly 3 weeks of intense activity.
This last week @lawyer.linh and I took a fruit and vegetables challenge and although I mainly eat plant-based, I cut out added sugar (except for peanut butter, which has added sugar but the kind I eat isn't terrible). The weight is coming off easier - Not surprisingly.
Result (so far): 5 pounds lost.
Even with some wavering: last weekend I exceeded my calories 3 days straight because I ate too much with too many sweets (salt too). Monday I was beating myself up. Today I feel accomplished. There's a lesson in there: be skeptical of your feelings. Just do the work and you will get results.
I get that I am typing that while in a good mood but the reality is, I maintained integrity throughout the negativity. The negative feelings just made the ride less fun and more of a grind.
A busy day at the office - Accra, Ghana
This is one of the main street markets in Accra, where traders congregate to buy and sell their wares. I’ve walked through this area several times. My father used to have a shop nearby here and during some summer holidays from University, I worked in his shop, interacting with customers. I still get fascinated by the colors and vibrancy of this market area.
