Attaining balance in your life is sometimes about baby steps. Your family needs you-they are your priority & come first, at the same time you’re pulled in the direction of your demanding career, your relatives & friends call, the daily ups and downs of life present themselves…We all know the list. And sometimes that list can start to balloon out of control. This is when you need to stop, breathe deep, and focus on one thing at a time, concentrate on managing one life moment. If you can make that moment about finding balance and holding on to who you are—all facets of who you are, then you have achieved something wonderful. Thrive on the balance you can find now, embrace it, and the rest will fall into place—eventually.
PSA to all of my millennials: GET A PCP! Get a pcp! Please get a pcp!! I enjoy working at the urgent care and being able to capture many of my fellow millennials but I have certainly noticed a trend. Many young people are presenting to the urgent care with a chronic (non-urgent issue) and expecting a quick fix. When asked if they have a pcp, I’m usually met with a surprised face. •
I get the appeal of an urgent care, because I work at one on weekends. You walk in, without an appointment, and get AN answer and oftentimes a prescription. We are certainly a generation who enjoys instant gratification. And why wouldn’t we be? For years, we have had instant answers at our finger tips. But your health is more important than a quick, urgent visit.• I love family medicine because I can establish long-term relationships with people but also because I become a partner with them in their road to better health (or maintaining good health). A good family doctor will provide evidenced-based education, whereas Dr. Google can oftentimes miss the mark. We evaluate your individual risk factors and provide appropriate screenings. Urgent cares are not equipped to provide necessary diagnostic evaluations for any chronic problems. You also will not get the TLC that you should get from your pcp. So please, establish with a pcp, even if you’re only seen once a year. And if you’re in Atlanta, I’m coming soon and will be accepting new patients come August 😉 #familymedicine#familydoc#urgentcare#whatadoctorlookslike

Often times we get distracted or weighed down by the obligations in our lives and we sacrifice ourselves. With that mentality we end up doing ourselves a disfavor. Having #balance in our lives is so important for our mind, body and soul! One way that I try to restore balance in my life is working out. Not only does it help improve brain function, improve metabolic function, and strengthen muscles, but it also releases those yummy endorphins that make you feel oh so good! ☺️ @vibramfivefingers @zaggora
Last night at Husk, ordered the vegetable plate entree & needed to document its beauty. The place was quite the experience, as I got to see Kelly Osborne get seated before us (even though she walked in well after). I’ve seen my fair share of celebs in this lifetime, but what truly made my jaw drop was Bill Murray walking past us, to his seat a few tables away. He’s an icon - a legend - and of all the #celebs I’ve seen in my life, there hasn’t been one quite like him. Good times.
Hanging out on St Paddy's day next to the Paddy Wagon Sliders Truck! But on a serious note, over the last couple of days I have been assessing and treating several severely mentally ill inmates helping them with their symptoms and ensuring their safety and the safety of the staff.
