‘Rukmale’ serveware for JME @jamieoliver in 2009. We worked closely with artisan potters in Sri Lanka and Midaya ceramics for 7 years to develop a unique high fired terracotta body suitable for everyday use, including hospitality. Creating colourful glazes for terracotta. The the bowls were handmade by artisan potters in villages outside Colombo who I worked with for many years to create handmade products for the European market. Each bowl is stamped by the potter who made it. #craftrevival#innovation#fairtrade#pushingboundaries
That was my first dining experience in Buenos Aires. My host (a native Argentinian) told me “don’t ask questions, because I don’t have the answers. Just eat. Tonight is all about meat.” I think she meant ‘cow’, clearly this is not meat. It looked like bread, tasted like brains and together with the creamy fungi and chips, it was incomprehensibly delicious. Then came the grilled meat. We were also taken care of by a celebrity sommelier telling us about their 500 wine labels from Argentina’s wonderful wine world. .
A visit to Bocca di Lupo in the heart of Soho is highly recommended. With delicious regional Italian cooking and an award winning wine list featuring wines from all 20 regions of Italy, this restaurant should not be missed while in London.
