So frustrated...I have been feeling good since Sunday. My new low thiol plan was on point...and then, tonight happened. We had plans to go to a hibachi grill with friends for a few weeks. I didn’t want to cancel again, so I figured white rice and ask for no seasoning on a side of shrimp. It should have been fine, but it wasn’t. Between sitting and not enjoying the show cause I had no food to eat, I am sitting here crying in pain. My gut, no my body, is my enemy at this point. We don't talk enough about our digestive health and how much discomfort we endure because of not properly caring for our gut. One of my favorite memories popped up yesterday.. Yet when I looked at it, I immediately thought how puffy I looked.. I actually weigh much less in the graduation picture but all I see is inflammation.. Inflammation makes you feel miserable.. I hurt all the time, my tummy was an absolute mess, my anxiety was pretty high and I was on tons of medication.. Fast forward to today, I feel like a different person.. NOT ALL YOGURT IS CREATED E Q U A L ! I’ve been eating @dannon ‘s light and fit zero. It is low in sugar ( aka carbs for you carb ppl ) and high in protein! What’s important here is the a d d e d sugar in yogurt. Yogurt will have natural sugar called lactose (oh fanci ) 🥛 so double check the additional sugar being added to your fav yogurt! You might be surprised (especially from all those crunchy and gooey toppings they add in there) 🍨
GUT STORY TIME!!
So I can’t go into too much detail because of the word count allowed here, butttt after cutting out both Gluten and Dairy I still experience bloating daily. After all the blood work coming back fine and after much fight, I finally got referred to a dietician! (hallelujah) and as expected she has put me on a #lowFODMAP diet for 6 weeks - which will definitely be a challenge and I don’t really know how to feel about it.
Negatives - I have to stop eating multiple things I love and eat daily (Apples, Broccoli, Beans and Pulses, Cauliflower, Onion, Mushrooms, Gravy etc etc.), and it should be done as strictly as possible to get the most out of it, also possible weight gain due to more carbs (I usually eat quite low carb because I find they make me bloated especially in the evening!)
Positives - I should eventually be able to eat both Gluten & Dairy again!! And I will reintroduce these along with all the above foods that I love and have to cut out! I should also apparently be fine on more carbs and certain cheeses for these 6 weeks (which I don’t believe but we’ll see what happens)
If any of you have completed the proper cycle of Low FODMAP (as in a guided restriction for the 4-8 weeks and then reintroduction if foods) did you find it worked for you?

I am giving my body a break and giving it mostly puréed food, which sounded awful to make yesterday so I stocked up on baby food 🙈 My doctors the last 5 years have been at Michigan Medicine and the Mayo Clinic, so it’s time I find one in Chicago.
