Why has it taken me 23 years to find out that processed meats are Class A carcinogen?? How disgusting that this world encourages cancerous sugar and meats to us, especially children! Why not chuck in some dairy too to brittle their growing bones!! 'makes our bones grow strongerer' said the little girl promoting petit fulu yogurts. It's all a lie! Please please please take the time like I now am to find out what we are eating and how it's all linked to our terminal forever growing illnesses. Processed meats cause just as much cancer as cigarettes. Animal based calcium actually withdraws calcium from our bones. Pleaaaaase educate yourself and start making changes for the benefit of the economy, animal warfare and most importantly your one and only body!! #baconiscancer #educateyourself #dietmatters #glutenfree #wheatfree #sugarfree #meatfree #dairyfree #cancerfree #grainfree #staynatural #stayhealthy #plantbased #plantpowered #vegan #paleo #makethechange #youonlyhaveonebody #healthylifestyle #healthyvegan #besmart #eatrightfeelright #hippielife #hippiemind

I'm not usually one to put too much stock into the scale, since a person can be at the beginning of their fitness journey at 160 pounds with mostly fat, and a year later they are the same weight but look toned and muscular. Hopefully in a year I am the latter.
•
Don't get me wrong, the totals of all the junk I've eaten in the past 7 weeks seems like too much, but over the span of 49 days, that's nothing. It's because I stayed below 1200 calories most days, also taking into account the cookies or the wine.
•
But this just goes to show that you can still eat the things you want, in moderation.
•
I only eat 3-4 cookies a day. I only have a beer or two once every other Friday. I went to a wine tasting event ONCE and had a great time. Did it break my progress? Absolutely not! I kept with my diet and stuck it out.
•
Some days I didn't even hit 1200 calories and I wasn't hungry. My stomach didn't growl and i didn't crave anything. (Other days i was ravenous, but thats besides the point. Lol.)
•
Diet is what has what helped me lose the weight. Not working out. 4 hours a week might seem like a lot of effort, but 24/7 dieting is even more intense than that if you think about it!

Athletes today are so much better than they were even 15 years ago + the main reason why is their diet + nutrition. Of course training regiments + equipment + global exposure have done their part, but the best of the best are more focused now on what they put in their mouth than ever before.

There will always be athletic standouts, like Usain Bolt, that can set records while eating mcnuggets. But if you are stuck wondering why we are watching athletes like Tom Brady be MVP of a young man's league at the age of 41, read a little about how seriously he takes eating + you'll get your answer.
The old adage "you can't outtrain a bad diet" is dead on + after years of training elite athletes, I've pivoted to #nutritionprogramming with #fearofdefeat to address that hurdle. Because before you can even consider achieving your potential in the gym, you have to perfect your diet. #dietmatters #macronutrition

I was watching a documentary recently about how scientists are learning within the first week of pregnancy, what a mother eats can effect wether certain genes are activated or not, which ultimately effects the babies health once born and for life. .
Everything we put in our body matters. And as woman it matters even more because we have the ability to grow life within us ❤️

What’s enough protein?
Protein should form a key part of any diet and is especially essential when reaching your health and fitness goals. This macronutrient’s widely documented benefits include weight loss, increased energy levels, blood sugar stabilization, muscle recovery, muscle sculpting and helping your metabolism to perform optimally.
But how many of us take the protein reliance too far? Is there such a thing as too much?
Let’s start by saying there are many factors that play a part in working out how much protein you should be consuming each day. Things like sex, age, weight, activity level and metabolism all affect this so we’re basing these facts on general research and findings.
Protein can be attributed to almost every cellular function we have. It’s responsible for creating hormones and enzymes and ensures everything in our bodies is working effectively. When your diet doesn’t contain enough protein, you will find your energy levels drop and hunger increases. This is why it’s so important to ensure you’re getting enough protein throughout the day.
The general rule is that you should consume one gram of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. For example, if you weight 60 kilograms, then you would only need 60 grams per day. Most people are eating between two and three grams of protein per kilogram and this is not a bad thing. Protein has so many incredible benefits and eating this much will not have a negative effect on the body. If you were to consume five to six grams of protein per kilogram, this may start to have negative effects.

👁❤️so I've been having some vision issues lately & had my yearly optometrist appointment today. got some things ruled out, learn about what to look for, & am trying a new glasses prescription. cool cool. the refreshing thing was I told my doc that I've been playing with my diet to see if it helps & she told me I was right to do so. to have validation & affirmation from a doctor that diet matters is so refreshing. she even helped me see that I have seen improvement since I've made some changes & suggested paying attention to what I have eaten in the last day or so if it gets bad during future days. love this. we need more doctors & people to view health like this ❤️

See all that brightly colored stuff? Unhealthy #petrochemicalfoodcoloring, used to dye some kind of processed chunks of whatever that is, mixed with the seed. Not healthy for humanzzz or animals. It is also used in a lot of #candy🍥🍡🍭🍬, #bakedgoods🎂🍰, brightly colored drinks 🍹🥃& other #processedfoods. Beware! Shouldn't eat it, or feed it to children...read ingredient labels, will be listed as #yellow5 #red3, etc. See the other bag is just pure seed. In February, we are challenging you to set aside 10 minutes each day for rest and recovery! We are also going to be giving tips on how to give yourself R&R as well as what foods promote healing after injury.
When injuries first occur, there is typically inflammation.
Eat more anti-inflammatory fats like olive oil, fish oil, nuts and avocados.
Eat fewer pro-inflammatory foods like processed foods and foods high in trans fat. #theother23hours #theother23 #antiinflammatorydiet #fats #healthyfats #restandrecovery #injurynutrition #noprocessedfood #notransfats #avocado #fishoil #oliveoil #nuts #seeds #fish #eathealthy #healthychoices #onegoodchoiceatatime #healfaster #dietmatters #healingfrominjury #healingfrominsideout #macrocounting #macrocoach #nutritioncoaching

Complementary breakfast 😶🤐. Muchas gracias pero I could have a #heartattack or a #stroke just looking at this, woaw! 🙊Aqui...esta el problema...not one bite of #rawwholefiber on this plate, the only fiber is processed & highly cooked, in the hash browns & the grain in the bread. This type of mostly meat, #arteryclogging #inflammatorydiet also causes #arthriticissues in #joints, harmful #stomachacid, #erectiledysfunction, #breastcancer, #sexuallytransmitteddiseases, and a host of other common & rare #healthproblems people are suffering from. What do you think about this?
-
I think I’ve gotta be careful in how I explain this post to you.
-
For one, people see “gaining weight” as a bad thing. I know this and I’m using these words anyways. You might be a person who actually really needs to gain weight because you’re underweight.
-
Or you’re someone who, in their search for a leaner, toned, and healthier looking body, probably needs to gain weight steadily in order to add a little muscle. At some point, I mean.
-
Most people envision weight gain as eating pizza and being careless about how they look but if you never get out of that mindset you may have trouble controlling your shape and weight long term.
-
It really comes down to HABITS.
-
Regardless of the specific meals up there, or the number of meals, the point of this post is to display simply and clearly that your eating HABITS come first. Again, this has nothing to do with eating 3 square meals a day or that you have to drink a smoothie in the morning.
-
And your goals — lose fat, add muscle, look leaner and healthier — come on the foundation of eating well most the time.
-
The difference is not in the foods you eat — as they should stay pretty similar always — it is in the amounts you eat.
-
And until you accept that matching mostly eating good food, in the right amounts, whether you’re aiming to lose fat, add muscle, or, most importantly, maintaining it, you’ll never truly have it.
-
Here’s the good part:
-
None of that has to involve eating bland food, depriving yourself of your favourite foods, skipping social events or whatever else you may tried when you “dieted” in the past.
-
Hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any questions below.

Here’s a bit of a transformation for you this Friday..... from October 17th ➡️ TODAY.... Madison clearly has gained weight and hit some really important infant milestones.... 🙌🏻 Since this picture I’ve had 2 surgeries, lost almost 27lbs (totaling almost 50lbs since giving birth) and doing it largely on diet alone because I haven’t been able to work out for medical reasons. My diet has been less than perfect (I live with toddlers!) and I still have about 25lbs left to pre- Madison and 40 more pounds left to my goal. It’s been a longer and slower process than with my boys. I’ve definitely been frustrated. I’ve added probiotics, detox and GI supportive teas in my routine which I believe just supports my healthier habits. Ive also added fascia blasting which is helping relieve my tight muscles. I’ve learned a ton about what foods do to me and what I’m liking to eat versus not. The biggest thing was cutting out SALT! I’m still learning and growing. I’m about to embark on a vegetarian/gluten and diary free diet as part of challenging me more in this journey. #weightlossjourney #dietmatters #shreddingforthewedding #healthmatters #postpartumbody #postpartumjourney #slowandsteady #3weeksleft

You probably know that protein is beneficial for building and maintaining muscle, but did you know that fibre is crucial to the process as well?
Repairing muscle tissue is a dynamic process that results in metabolic waste. This metabolic waste comes to be processed in the liver and excreted via the bile, into the intestines. If inadequate fibre is present, these products can be partially resorbed and continue to circulate in the body.
Try this fantastic bread recipe from Food52 that absolutely packs loads of fibre and nutrition in every slice. It is super simple to make, though you will need to start at least 2 hours ahead. It is the perfect way to start the day. Try topping it with some smashed avocado and poached egg.
1 cup hulled sunflower seeds
1/2 cup flaxseeds
1/2 cup almonds
1.5 cups rolled oats
2 tb chia seeds
3tb psyllium powder
1ts salt
1tb maple syrup
3tb coconut oil
1.5 cups water
Line a loaf pan with baking paper and oil the inside surface. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and whisk syrup, oil and water in a separate bowl. Mix the two together well, until a thick dough forms
Transfer Dough into the lined Loaf pan and allow to rest covered overnight
Place the loaf in the center of an oven preheated to 175c and bake for 20 minutes. Remove loaf from the tin and bake upside down for another 40min directly on the rack.
Store refrigerated in a sealed container.

Here’s something I found beyond amazing. While it was a gloomy, chilly, rainy day when we left Florida the moment we made it above the clouds it was beautiful and sunny! I tend to look at things around me symbolically and I couldn’t help but think no matter what is going on, there is always a brighter outcome, or silver lining. Don’t be so sure you know or understand the full picture. Life is too vast, and too special. There’s always more to learn, more to see, and always things you don’t know you don’t know. Keep an open mind to possibilities beyond what your eyes can see. You never know what’s above the clouds ... or around the corner🤗

BBPT Blog Health Tip: Eat your Fiber
By: Fiona McMahon, DPT, PT

What is fiber?
Fiber, it’s the hot ticket. It is being marketed to us like crazy. But why is fiber is so important? What fiber is best? Should you get more fiber with supplements? Let’s take a closer look into the benefits of fiber in this edition of BBPT’s Health tips.

Fiber is the part of food that we cannot digest. It is separated into two types, soluble and insoluble. Both bulk up the contents of your stomach and colon, which can help you feel more full but after that, the similarities end.

Olives

Did you know that studies have found olives to be a possible functional food that can promote bone health? .
.
.

Researchers have found that the polyphenols within olives may be used as a preventative measure to osteoporosis. .
.
.
Why is this important for prenatal health ? Maintenance of maternal bone health is crucial, primarily in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy. .
.
.

Researchers have also found that the consumption of olive oil during pregnancy may reduce wheezing in an infants first year of life. .
.
.
I will be covering the health benefits of olives in more detail in a future blog post. . .
.
.
.
What is your favourite kind of olive, green or black ? .

Eat healthy 🍽 Variety is good for morale and for health. Food is happiness || For each meal, I try to respect the three thirds : 1/3 proteins, 1/3 vegetables and 1/3 starchy food. But I believe eating meat 🍖 at each meal is really too much for my body (and the planet 🌎) and it's boring so I replace it half time by vegetal proteins --- || This dish is inspired by my travel to India 🇮🇳 champion of vegetarian food. I arranged the traditional "Palak paneer" with ingredients I had got : spinach, tofu, tomato coulis, coco milk with garam masala and cumin served with whole couscous || It was great and well balanced and change is good 👍 Bon appétit ! --------------------------------------------------#ayurvedicfood #indianfood #vegetarian #vegan #palakpaneer #eathealthy #veggie #lessmeat #foodismedicine #eatdifferent #spinach #tofu #vegetalprotein #chronicillness #dietmatters #foodishappiness #varietyislife
