Ran out of our breath during the hike to Dhankar lake; a beautiful lake exclusively for you. There were some wild cows and bulls roaming at the other end. Went upclose for a dramatic click of the mountain ranges. Too close and our man stood up for a charge at me.
And yea, learnt how to hike in high altitude by myself. You have to be on monk mode. More, later.
they say God resides in spiti.
I tell you, you get to meet Him awestruck with utmost fascination of your wilderness; the artistic mountain top standing majestic, floating blue white clouds kissing vast canvas of clear blue sky, confluence of rivers spiti & pin with numerous spiral tails of rivulet over browny sand beds, & here you stand blissful with every cell of yours bowing before majestic eternity ~b
This paint like snapshot shows Dhankad monastery on top of Dhankad village caping pin and spiti river confluence. This is taken on the trek back from Dhankad lake farther uphill
If you have not come to Spiti just to touch n tick known places, you must trek to Dhankar Lake. Its a moderate trek of about 2 hr., take you to a small but pristine, high altitude lake.
