📌By 1982, the group had already established itself as one of the hottest bands working the live circuit. In 1983, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were fired from the band, after pursuing a career as producers. The band split in 1984 When Morris Day left. The original six members (plus Jerome Benton) reunited in 1990 but despite expectations, the reunion only brought moderate success.
📌The three members wore lingerie on records covers as well as on stage. The band imagery prefigured what became one of the many looks a large amount of R'n'B and Rap girl-groups adopted from the 90's to this day. 🎵Evolution: 📌The band was assembled by Prince from the summer of 1981 to January 1982.
📌She's co-founder (along with Lynn Mabry) of the "Lil' Angel Bunny Foundation", an organization that "provides abused, abandoned and severely emotionally disturbed children compassionate care by implementing an alternative method of recreational and education therapy through music and the arts and funding special services and programs that assist the needs of these children using these fundamental methods".
🎵Eric Leeds - Work With Prince:
📌Eric Leeds was introduced to Prince in 1984 by his brother Alan Leeds who was working for Prince as a tour manager since early April 1983. Alan had mentioned Eric to Prince and played him cassettes of his playing, so when Prince was looking for a saxophone player to play on The Family project he asked Alan to call his brother and ask if he was interested in flying from Atlanta, where Eric was living at the time, to Minneapolis to do some recordings.
