"Living in the Pacific “Northwet”, waterproof gear is vital for year round riding.
When I started my hunt for a waterproof jacket, the First Gear Kilimanjaro touted three important features: waterproof, women’s sizes, and affordable. Over the past three years, I have put it to the test." Click the link in our profile to read Kris's full review!
You can tell she loves her jacket because she's talked half a dozen friends into buying it as well!
At the start of half term we went to one of the children's favourite places - @DraytonManorPark. We last went just a few months ago but they couldn't wait to go again - and we had such a lovely day. I've written about it over on the blog today.
Shake it off! It’s ok to have bad moments just don’t have a bad day! This little guy is coming fresh out of the water getting ready to sunbathe and get some rest on their protected breeding grounds. Boulders Beach is home to thousands of “jackass penguins” or Spheniscus Demersus. They are known as Jackass penguins for their donkey-like bray. If you have never seen these little guys they are fun to watch! Very confident birds allowing you to get within a few feet of them before fleeing to safety.
After long days of running around Zimbabwe I was awakened every morning by loud chirps and scratching on my room window. Only to open the blinds to see a flock of Collared sunbirds consistently trying to get in. They are know for “shadow boxing” and they did put on a show for a few hours every morning! The collared sunbird primary diet is nectar and they are very fast flyer who can also hover like hummingbirds. I definitely had them mistaken as a hummingbird because they are only 9-10 cm long which is very similar hummingbird family.
#trustinGOD be #braveandstrong#daretoexplore#mustardseedfaith#movemountains#miracles#wonders#powerofGOD#GODisgood#GODisincontrol#journeyofdestiny#theperfectplan#wisdomofGOD#GODstiming#bravefaith . . .

Did you know that the Death Valley is one of the hottest places on earth, with summer temperatures comparing to Africa and the Middle East?! ☀️ It's also the driest and largest US national park (if you exclude Alaska) and marks the country's lowest point at 85 meters / 282 feet below sea level. #funfacts
Mayfield is packed with history. These holes in the church door in Church Mayfield are reputed to be bullet holes from when Bonny Prince Charlie’s troops passed though through the village in 1745. Lots of snowdrops, dog and child friendly paths on our sunny walk yesterday. The three Mayfields - Church Mayfield, Upper Mayfield and Middle Mayfield feel like stepping back in time, some of the buildings date back as far as the 1600s. The Rose and Crown is a lovely pub for lunch or dinner. #mayfieldhideaway#holidaycottage#peakdistrict#staffordshire
Our recent @airbnb guests renamed the barn’s kitchen the ‘magic kitchen’ because it had everything they needed or forgot to buy. And they tested it to the max by making us an amazing red velvet cake. Thanks so much, it tastes incredible and it was an absolute pleasure to have you stay ❤️ #mayfieldhideaway#holidaycottage#peakdistrict
As I took the boat section of the Safari at Chobe National Park, I couldn’t help but notice these beautiful Nymphaea Nouchali or commonly known as blue lotus. A little unexpected picture perfect surprise for me to share with you! If you ever have the opportunity in your travels to Botswana, you will not be disappointed by going on a Safari at Chobe National Park!
Victoria Falls also called Mosi-oa-Tunya “The Smoke That Thunders”, isn't the tallest or highest waterfall in the world, but is classified as such due to its width combined with its height (5,604 X 354) producing the world largest sheet of falling water! It is twice the height of Niagara Falls and almost 3 times the width of Horseshoe Falls! If you ever want to have your mind blown...come experience these Falls!!
From miles away it looks like a storm. The closer you get it appears to be raining from all the mist that surrounds the falls. The roar it produces is like a sound you’ve never heard before and the electric feeling once it’s in your eye sight will give you chills! Now I see why Victoria Falls is nicknamed Mosi-oa-Tunya “The Smoke That Thunders”.
We popped into one of our local pubs for dinner, The Royal Oak. Rik loved his burger and Penny loved the veggie butternut squash and goats cheese tart. Our kids polished off the kid’s meals. The puddings were scrummy, the service was good and the fire, fairy lights and cushions made it 👌#mayfieldhideaway#holidaycottage#peakdistrict
