“Arabian Tea House”: we capped off our day with what was one of the most incredible #mezze spreads I have ever seen or had the pleasure of tasting.
I (quite easily) convinced Hana and Chris to join me at the @arabianteahouse where I took command and ordered a feast of local dishes for us to share.
What followed was nothing shy of gastronomic perfection. #hummus that was so smooth and velvety that it had the consistency of whipped butter; #bajella , or warm #Emirati beans served in a citrus broth; #olives that were as magically delicious as a unicorn’s sprinkles; #falafel that were so crunchy on the outside, yet so fluffy and flavourful inside, and served with a tangy tahini dip; #moutabal that was just the right amount of smoky, yet creamy and delicious; fresh pita bread that we continuously asked to have replenished; #dango (not pictured), or a typical Emirati dish of warmed chickpeas flavoured with scotch bonnets in a citrus broth; and a heavenly grilled #halloumi#salad , where the cheese was warm and perfectly seared, while all the accompanying veg (and #avocado !!!) complimented one another and were all tied in by the mustard dressing.
We then opened up our second stomachs to make room for #dessert (#noregrets ), and ordered mastic #camel milk #icecream , along with khabisah, a mixture of white flour, cardamom, cinnamon, date, and nuts.
We left so full, but so happy to have had the opportunity to enjoy such an incredible meal, in such an authentic environment.
I am feeling so lucky and so blessed to have had today unfold the way it did, as I needed to just enjoy a day without stress, or sadness, or anxieties.
