Learning to cycle in the sun ❤️ If you’re visiting the Luberon, Provence, it’s worth knowing about the Voie Verte du Calavon. It begins near the village of Coustellet and follows the Calavon valley for 37km. It’s almost flat, mostly well away from the road and has plenty of places to pull on/off; great for all ages.
Today the Paris-Nice peloton will pass very close to this, the gorgeous hilltop town of Bonnieux, in the heart of the Luberon National Park, Provence. It’s one of our all-time favourite places for a cycling holiday. Have you been?
Seeing ground peeking out of the snow gives me spring fever! I am ready to get out my bike and cycle my way through European villages. Even with such amazing style as bike shoes and helmet paired with the latest Club Monaco pieces. 😂
Planning a bike vacation: the first time I took a 2 week bike trip through Europe, my hubby announced that I could only take 2 outfits since we were carrying everything on our bikes. Ummm...repeat that please???? Two weeks with only 2 outfits...that is simply not possible. The relationship almost ended there. 👗👠
Fortunately I stuck around because it was the most amazing experience. Now I start counting the days til our next bike trip as soon as the current one ends. There is something so liberating to 2 weeks with no hair, makeup or wardrobe decisions. Instead time is spent focused on achieving the current day route and soaking in the beauty of small European towns as you roll by. Moments that would be missed any other way.

Exploring with an old-school map ❤️
The Luberon region, to the south of Mont Ventoux, is a superb base to explore the area. The riding is varied, challenging and beautiful. The food and drink are not bad either!
Paris-Nice heads to the Luberon, Provence later this week: have you been? With Ventoux around the corner, idyllic hilltop towns and outstanding boulangeries, patisseries and restaurants, the Luberon is one of our absolute favourite places to mix a holiday with unforgettable riding. Bring on summer!
