Today was wash day. 🧖♀️ •
Washed with @devacurl no poo, DC with melt into moisture (with heat). Washed out and squished in @curls blueberry bliss leave in. Finished with Ultra Defining Gel. It has been raining all day, and I’m a serial hair fluffer. The frizz is real, y’all! #jannellesgotmycurls#curlygirlmethod
Little time lapse from December of 2016 to March 2018! 🤷
In December two years ago I hadn't heard of the curly girl method and was using harsh sulfates and silicones. 😭 I was also damaging my hair a lot with heat by straightening it often. In April of 2017 my curls were very dry and split. The heat damage was taking a toll on my curls and they were losing their pattern/definition. In July of 2017 I had stayed away from straightening my hair so often, due to the fact that it was very long and took me about 2-3 hours to straighten! Who's got time for that?! I was getting my curl pattern and volume back! As of this month I have been practicing the curly girl method for over a month now. I have some bleach damage to repair, and I unfortunately had to cut off a lot of length due to this damage. However, I'm learning to love my curls and treat them the way they should be treated, and they are loving me back! 😍

I’ve been trying to grow my natural hair longer & stronger the last few months & it’s working 😭 My hair has been soo short for such a long time. That made me feel suuper insecure wearing it natural. Especially being around friends who have long, pretty straight hair that’s easy to maintain. That’s why there’s not many pictures of me showing it lol. I’M GETTING MORE COMFORTABLE WITH IT THO! 😅🙈 ••••• Here I used the @sheamoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil leave-in conditioner (it’s so bomb, one of my fave hair products ever👌🏽) + their Coconut Water mousse (it’s meant for thin hair ☺️).... my hair looks the BEST with this combo 😍✨ so in case you have curly hair & want some suggestions of good products... there ya go.... lol
I like my hair today but it's definitely a lot flatter than normal... Last night I lowpoo'd with @nymbrands pink shampoo before deep conditioning for about 20 minutes with @sheamoisture manuka honey and Madura oil mask and my @thermalhaircare hothead.
Then I hopped back in the shower (after perfectly timing my Postmates delivery for when I wasn't in the shower 👏) and risnsed out the mask. Next I stc some @nymbrands pink detangled, followed by @sheamoisture coconut and habiscus conditioner. Then I stc'd in some @herbalessences twisted mousse. I put some effort into makeing sure I got the back of my head since I seem to be missing that spot lately.
I did a quick wrap of my hair (a few minutes at most) so I could hop out of the shower and dry off. Then I 🙏 @miss_jessies jelly soft curls gel into my hair. Pixie defused and threw a few clips for volume in.
I slept on the cast and the pics are the results. I like it, but my first day hair is always flatter. I think sleeping on the cast doesn't quite agree with me... Excited to try my denman brush on the next go :) and maybe I'll sotc before bed and put my hair up Medusa style to see if that helps with the volume.
🧡First use for the @edenbodyworks. From my @curleebox 🧡
I will give a more detailed review once I have used the products for a while.. This is just a little review from a first wash ..
My curls aren’t as defined as they had been previously. I had only used the shampoo, conditioner and mousse, I wasn’t keen on the mousse only because it was very runny not like some of the mousse I have used and i like that foamy sort of mousse. The shampoo I had used twice as I like to do this sometimes if I feel I haven’t quite cleaned my hair properly. The conditioner I started from my ends and worked my way up the hair as my ends need that extra care, leave on for 10 mins and rinse. My hair felt incredibly soft(when wet), and it hasn’t felt like this before after a wash so was nice to feel a difference. ➰Im going to use these products through out the month and experiment with other products to see how well they work together and will post on here➰
