Picture this scenario: Your program calls for hard training Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Like a badass, you crush every minute of every interval and feel strong throughout. When Friday comes around you see an "Active Recovery" ride on the schedule. You're a little tired from the past three days, but not so tired that you can't knock out a quick 25-30 miles at a "moderate" pace, so that's exactly what you do. On Saturday the plan calls for a long/hard interval session, and is one of your more important interval sessions of the week. You head out with the best intentions, but about halfway through the interval set you start to feel fatigued and end up falling short on half of the intervals and cutting the workout a little short. Sunday goes a bit better, but you missed one of your key workouts because you were too tired.
Scenerio 2 - You train hard Tu-Wed-Thu, then on Friday ride REALLY EASY at 12mph for 45-60 minutes like the schedule called for. You then process to crush your Saturday interval session with strong/fresh legs.
👉 Can you guess which scenario will lead to better results❓
The strongest athletes know that recovery rides are just as important as their hardest interval sessions. Take your recovery seriously and you'll be able to go harder when it truely counts!

#Boone North Carolina to host Pro #Criterium and leg Buster Mountain race. The route runs right through downtown Boone past our Fine and Applied Arts creative space building. Guess I better get the lawn chairs ready.
