The first thing to bloom this spring is a spring giveaway that is sure to bless generations. I'm joyfully gifting two new autographed “GENERATIONS” cookbooks, written by my friend, @rusticjoyfulfood. She has beautifully brought us recipes from her heart and the flavors long savored around the table of family members past.
This cookbook is full of recipes that nourish your heart and your soul. Some of my favorites recipes in the cookbook are the: Kale and Fresh Crab Caesar with Pepita Caesar Dressing, Homestyle Garlic Fries, and Herby Pies. My hubby's favorite is the Wine and Tomato Braised Short Ribs over Parmesan Cauliflower Mash. But to be honest every page turn brings my mouth to water. One of my most favorite things about this cookbook are the generational stories laced throughout that bring even more richness to each dish. It is one of my favorite cookbooks!
For a chance to WIN one of the two GENERATIONS cookbooks here's how to ENTER⬇️: •
1. Make sure you follow @biancapattrson
2. Like this photo and
3. Tag a friend & share one spring memory that brings you joy.
The giveaway closes 11:59 PM PST on Saturday, March 24th. The randomly chosen two winners will be tagged here. Wishing You Well!
You guys! Our friends at @sisterpiedetroit have a cookbook! Pre-order today (and watch for our fall Sister Pie Baking Retreat dates - coming soon!). #Repost @sisterpiedetroit
OCTOBER 2. Save the date, pie pals, because that’s when the Sister Pie cookbook hits shelves via @tenspeedpress and Lorena Jones Books. EEK!!! In the meantime, you can pre-order online at the link in our profile. This book has been a true labor of love, and I can’t wait for you to see the inside. It’s filled with many SP favorites (Ginger Peach Biscuit! Rhubarb Rosemary Streusel! Buckwheat Chocolate Chip Cookies!) as well as a few brand new ones. 💕❤️💕
I love this taco spread from @hotforfood’s Vegan Comfort Classics. I never used to eat taco’s (the Dutch aren’t very good with them), but the ones on Hot For Food always look so great. The book doesn’t give you taco recipes, but inspires you to create your own and gives you guidelines on how to deconstruct the meals and make tacos out of it. My goal is to make them all, but I started out with the bbq tofu and jalapeño-lime aioli slaw from the Bahn Mi Bowl. It was really good. The slaw was spicy and complemented the sweet and crispy tofu. The aioli is made with vegan mayo, so quick and easy. x Elske .
So happy to be helping our sweet friend @evakosmasflores celebrate her new (and stunning) cookbook release! #FirstWeEat is all about cooking seasonally and has some gardening tips in it too! We obviously wanted to make something from the Spring section and landed on this delicious Green Pea Hummus with Toasted Pita. Check out our stories for a peek inside the book!.
OMG OMG My second cookbook, Platters and Boards, is out TODAY! I can’t wait for you all to receive your pre-ordered copy in the mail (head to your local bookstore if you didn’t preorder it!) and make sure to tag your photos #plattersandboards so I can see them! It’s crazy to think about how starting a small blog 6 years ago led me to the opportunity to not write one but two books. I just want to say thank you for following along on this little food adventure of mine because these opportunities would have not been possible without you. 💙✨💚
#lovewelcomeserve the best cookbook finally made it's way to Italy!!! Saying that having this book has been hard is an understatement...I first ordered it on Amazon on December, 30th and, after many phone calls, emails and reorders...I finally got it yesterday😨! Hurray!!! I made several recipes from @eunamaes #lovewelcomeservebook but I can't wait to read every page of this new favourite cookbook. Of course yesterday evening we celebrated with @eunamaes #chickennoodlesoup 😍...the perfect comforting food to end a rainy and gloomy day. Thank you Amy for such a precious gift from a cooking lover👩🍳
@alisoneroman “Dining In”, Whole Wheat Pasta with Brown-Buttered Mushrooms, Buckwheat, and Egg Yolk
Notes: This recipe is 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻. The crunch of the buckwheat and the egg make this dish. Going into my ‘regular rotation’ scrapbook and this book just earned a spot on the shelf.
The Mission: Too many cookbooks that I’ve never used crowd my shelves (and floor 😱), so I’ve decided to make them justify their space by making at least 2 recipes from each.
Last week I was privileged to meet up with @jennychandleruk for a coffee at @eastvillagebristol to talk about her book ‘Pulse’.
Jenny told me how her experiences of being of chef in Italy and living as a student in Spain and South America had ignited her interest and passion for pulses.
She went on to explain that in these countries pulses were a cheap and delicious part of the food culture. I also learnt from Jenny that pulses have many health benefits such as regulating blood sugar and being high in protein and fibre.
Jenny’s book contains recipes of food she likes to eat and that contain a variety of seasonal ingredients, which naturally lead to having a healthier diet.
The book has all you need to know about pulses and a wide variety of delicious recipes. The most profound thing that Jenny told me was that pulses can be thought of as the ‘Miracle Food,’ they can support two types of malnutrition: obesity and lack of food.
Jenny was the UN ambassador for pulses in 2016 she spoke around the world at conferences about the numerous benefits of pulses. I came away from meeting Jenny enthused to get cooking from her book. What a perfect week to be exploring ‘Pulse’ during the @britishdalfestival. •
