Break bread with friends. I understand why so much of many cultures revolves around food. I’ve never met a bread I didn’t like, and nothing beats a good biscuit paired with quality conversation. #atthetable
I was on a date last night. First one from a dating app. I wasn’t excited or nervous about it. Which worked out perfectly because emotions tend to ruin it for me. I remember my first date and the whole process of it. Getting ready, picking out an outfit, excitement and the build up to it. That build up was lacking for me. The butterflies in the belly weren’t there. But I was open minded and told myself to have fun. First impressions she was tall and pretty, her pictures didn’t do justice. The way the candle on the table highlighted certain features of her face. I couldn’t help but catch myself fixated at times. She’s also intelligent, ambitious and straightforward. Characteristics that I admire. The conversation was easy and we made each other laugh. We talked about dating now, which was an interesting topic of conversation. She pegged certain things I should change in my approach to matching with people. Confidence and not showing too much too soon. She’s a good cook, into EDM and busybody trying to experience things now before she gets older. I learned she speaks five languages, close with her family and likes hiking. The silences weren’t awkward at all but a pause before the conversation started again. Before we knew it we spent four hours with each other. We ended it telling each other interest in seeing each other again. It was a good date. #datenight#onlinedating#datingapp#buildup#openmind#fun#firstimpressions#silence#conversation#goodnight#gooddate

“...it’s about us sort of learning and crafting and figuring things out and having fun whilst we’re doing it. And just making shit. That’s why I think we don’t want to always just call ourselves designers and art directors, because we’re just making things. It just comes out in many different ways.” — @wadejeffree with @letasobierajski on avoiding the restriction of clinical titles 🌱 Link in Bio 📷 From their work for @likeminds.camp
Girls and I played a new card game we bought from @thesaltedpixie ...the Peacemakers Game. They weren’t sure of it at first but once we started they enjoyed it. It opened up so many different avenues of communication and topics of discussion ....and the cards are super cute and positive. I love the honest talks we had today. .. @generationmindful ..
Happy Sunday, friends! ***Lengthy post alert! This is just a timely reminder that we are all remarkable humans with the ability to move mountains when there is passion, purpose and direction to our ideas.
I believe in the power of transforming ideas in to action and shared conversation transforming into a movement to influence and change the world around us.
My absolute pursuit is to assist in changing the stigma that surrounds mental health, raise the profile of PTSD and to empower those who suffer from the debilitating disorder to seek the support of professionals who can help them recover.
In the initial stages, this is achieved through conversations surrounding awareness, change - changing the responses from organisations who deal with trauma as part of their core business and empower their members to be heard, understood and helped. Conversations of strength - strength in that WE can shine a bright light on mental health, remove any associated stigma and support those affected to receive the professional support they may require.
Ultimately these conversations will evolve in to action, influence and change - positively influencing and changing the structural and institutionalised response to mental health.
If you believe that we, as individuals, have the ability to make a real difference in the lives of others, have the ability to remove the the stigma associated with mental health and have the absolute ability to change the institutionalised response to mental health, I invite you to continue this conversation and join me in my journey to change the face of mental health.
Be brave and keep the conversations of your own mental health going, invite conversations with others and have the courage to start a meaningful dialogue that could truly change or save someone’s life.
It’s time to take the leap ❤️ What you think you create What you believe becomes your reality. Trust that it’s all going to be ok .Believe in miracles because you are one ❤️ This is your moment , your day , your life , live it your way 😍💎
We’ve been robbed of our
And in a sense
removed from the present tense
And forced into the past
Trying to breakdown exactly how we came to lose ourselves so fast
I blamed God
Left him for freedom
And He waited
And when I exhausted my options
And laid sprawled out on the street
He cried over me
carried me home
I still hesitated
Ashamed of the Love He kept for me
Because I chose to live a life in selfishness
Show me why it is that Your Love thrives in communities of poverty
Forgive me and Guide me through the steps of Recovery
Bring me to your community
Place me in the company of the people who’ve come to you already in search of the one thing that matters
The Love and Support from the Spirit, the Son, and the true Holy Father
Next week I begin my first recovery program,
I’ve been using this page as an outlet for creativity and positive reinforcement, and I want to take the time to thank each one of you individually who have made a point of going out of your way to share your kind words with me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
