Let’s talk N A P S 😴! Sometimes naps for our little ones are so hard to figure out!
. Typically in babies, night sleep is conquered PRIOR to naps. Most babies learn to crawl before they walk, babble before they talk, and tend to conquer NIGHTS before they conquer long, consolidated NAPS! . There are three main reasons for this: 1. Nights time sleep and naps use different parts of the brain 🧠 The area controlling night sleep is typically developed prior to the part of the brain controlling daytime sleep. 2. The drive to sleep is highest at bedtime. This is when our bodies tend to “give in” to the pressure to go to sleep the easiest.
3.The smallest amount of light can affect a babies internal clock. Being exposed to light resets the clock tricking them into thinking it’s time to play. Therefore babies also sleep better at nights because it is darker
But what if naps are great and nights are not? It might be because your baby is so exhausted from lack of night sleep
