SFA have been appointed by long-term client, Kedleston Homes, to redevelop the former St Johns Activity Centre on Mill Street. The site will initially be used as a site compound for materials and car parking while the former Samways site is redeveloped 200m away. It becomes the fourth redevelopment site that SFA have been involved with within the cities University Quarter. This includes the approved schemes at Bridge Street and Ashbourne Road along with the proposal on Agard Street, which is currently in planning. Busy times. #derby#derbyuni#redevelopment#conservationarea

I love this corner of the dining room, although it is usually covered in colouring books and crayons to keep the girls entertained while they wait at the table! In planning news, we’ve just heard that the house directly opposite us has been granted permission to raise the roof on their annex - by more than we requested. Our planning officer told us flatly that AVDC wouldn’t permit any increase in ridge height of dwellings in the conservation area. Thrilled for our neighbours, but can’t help feeling like we’re just being battered over a barrel at the moment. Architect is going to complain today... we’ll see where it gets us 😫🤔
