This is the new ‘Center for Character and Leadership Development’ building at USAFA (United States Air Force Academy). It is a steel-and-glass skylight that stretches 105 feet into the air, perfectly aligned with the axis of the North Star.
One of the routes to get to this epic destination involves paying $8 and taking the bus up to Maroon Bells. I highly recommend that particular route because you get to see the Maroon Bells, Crater Lake, and then spend the night at this gem. My only problem was leaving! It's definitely tough to leave when the views are so surreal, and you are fully aware that you have to hike pretty much the same elevation gain up over buckskin pass, which in my opinion was pretty unforgiving & treacherous with a full pack. My only motivation was making the bus back down to the visitor center in time (fortunately I just made the last bus at 5pm!)
Pro tip: start hiking out around 11:30am-12pm to safely make the bus unless you are a really fast hiker 🏃🏼♀️💨
We are so glad to start another term as @letskeepitwild #WildKeepers to clean up trash and make our wild spaces better for all to enjoy!
Last term, this worldwide group picked up 10,000 lbs of trash from natural areas. 😲👏🏼What makes this group special? Nothing, other than the desire to leave nature better than we find it! Whenever we go for a hike, it is so easy to pack a plastic bag and pick up other peoples' trash. Can't wait to see how many pounds of trash we end up removing during this term! #impactday#wherethewildkeepersare#actsofadventure
Keep on dreaming and gazing into the night 🌌🚀 - loving this snow on the front range right now - who is getting up and chasing that powder tomorrow? Thanks @danielbenjaminphoto for this dreamy shot! Tag us or use #naturalcolorado to be featured!
everyone hopes it won't rain on their wedding day, but you have to see what happened when a torrential downpour rolled into James + Ashley’s ceremony! ☔️
maybe thunderstorms + weddings are a good match? also, their first kiss is documented right here in this post! link in bio.
