All smiles despite skiing through the rain, trying to avoid falling slush bombs, and working hard to stay on our feet through crap snow! Optimism was high for the Snoqualmie backcountry, but alas, we found mostly mashed potatoes and cream cheese. Welcome to earnin’ turns in Washington @mwbrown32, I promise the snow pack isn’t always this saturated! 📸: @corporateamericandirtbag
Finally managed to get myself back on the trails after a busy and somewhat exhausting week. It wasn’t a particularly great run though. But making the effort is what counts, right? On another note, the views were quite amazing today with a totally foggy Vienna.

I was not convinced that i could see something extraordinary on #blåvatnet , but i had the lust to hike and i had also enough time to do so.
But when i reached the top, i was impressed. Great views all around, a cliff going into a short valley with a lake ending in the sea again - really interesting. Of course a rainshower had to hit me during the hike, but instead of covering myself, i felt like that its time to rather put the shirt down and continue topless haha. The reward was a double rainbow (all the waaaay, whoooooaaah - internet refference again - and yeah, no picture for you neither topless nor rainbow 😂 (do you want to change it in the comments 😅?))
And then i returned to Eidsdal, but before i entered the village, i saw cars already standing in a queue for the ferry. I went further and saw the ferry coming, but first i had to buy groceries for my next day. So i did the shopping and when i came out of the shop, i saw the ferry taking the last cars, so i asked if i can go with my bike and i was there - damn! that was easy (screw you, cars! 😅)!
Rocky Mountain #Bighorn are stoic creatures. Sitting up above the trees in the warm breezy months, munching Spring flowers and looking out with keen eyesight and a strong heart, these guys are great indicators of mountain health, as they require a pristine environment to thrive. (shot at 300mm).
New Mexico, you have embraced me in each of the eras I have come to you; You have welcomed me in beauty and acceptance; You have blessed my eyes, my body, and my heart with YOU. I am grateful for your welcoming arms. — Over the past few days Rick @climbsrock and I have been moving our stuff to New Mexico. This is a photo I shot as we went through western NM. We sold our house in Utah - which we loved - to cut costs and hit the road full time for our business @climbonmaps. The sale happened far more quickly than we anticipated and we have been moving in a frenzy. A generous friend is letting us store the stuff we didn’t sell at her place and is welcoming us into her home as we need to come off the road and do some data processing work for the maps. I guess you could say I am a wandering spirit, having lived in many places since graduating from high school. But I have returned to New Mexico time and again. In sum, I have rested my head in this State for the longest total period of time and, although I have called many places home, and have loved and appreciated them all for their gifts, New Mexico is HOME and I will always return and feel that calm that comes with a sense of place and being. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #newmexico#newmexicoskies#newmexicotrue#desertsouthwest#liveoutdoors#getoutstayout#optoutside#goexplore#adventureculture#nature#outdoors#alwaysoutside#celebratewild#adventurepic#embracetheoutdoors
I got to edit a bunch of shots on the airplane home to Calgary last night. This is one of my fav shots from the trip to Quebec, we shot it yesterday morning at sunrise and then I headed to the airport for noon. Pretty good morning climbing! @etiennerancourt on Le Pilier Direct, WI4+ (felt easier) at Chutes Montmorency in Quebec. Is this one Pilier Direct or Pilier Crystal? Thanks!
lie back and undercling out the roof to a small foot stance. Reach up for double hand jam slot. Raise your legs into giant stem on quartz crystals. Place a cam and creatively make your way through the crux. Day 14. Cape Town. After going hard in the paint last night, and only a half day left before catching a flight to Instanbul, the morning and afternoon were spent overindulging on espresso and further exploring around this fascinating city. Goodbye South Africa, thanks for the amazing times🇿🇦 #travel#capetown#southafrica#latergram
This route was worth travelling to China for. Today @huens and I stood at the base of this frozen Jenga sports action, then stood some more. Then put our game faces on and climbed it. Definitely one of the top routes in the world, China’s Christmas tree delivered a brilliant present. A huge thanks to the routes first ascentionist, Mr Chuan, for the help in realizing a dream route. Without his help here, and his wonderful girlfriend, Han Han, we would be totally lost. Logistics in China are not easy, we are graced to have their guidance. Xie xie!
We have another week here, and I’ll share some of @johnpricephotography’s shots once he downloads. @arcteryx @redbullcanada @blackdiamond @scarpana @sterlingrope #china#wildenough#thanks ! #celebratewild
We went walking in Chiang Mai today looking to explore some temples. On the way to each one, we saw about 3 that we didn’t know we were going to see. They are everywhere! Check out my story for some pics of these incredibly intricate and old buildings (and some Chinese NY fun, too!) 🏯
And the #2015norway road continues to Eidsdal to cross the last fjord on my planned journey north. But first i made a turn left to the hill above the town - i read that its worth visiting, so i decided to hike the last time a little bit.
I have to say that after geiranger something changed on my journey. Most of my big plans were succesfully done and i somehow started to feel satisfaction... That i made something bigger than ever... And i realized that the end is slowly closing in... But there were still plans to fullfil 😊
