Can’t wait to share my recipe for #vegan#cornchowder made with canned corn, mini golden potatoes, and green chili’s. My toddler loves dipping her broccoli into this soup 😊 Then again, if she thinks something is a dip, it’s pretty much guaranteed that she’ll try it! #toddlerapproved
Thought I’d share this super easy and inexpensive recipe I’ve been making since I was a kid and Nolan and Brandon request it constantly year around. Best thing is it makes a lot but freezes amazingly (I put it in single serve bags for the guys to grab whenever) 🌙 it’s basically the beef soup we used to get from the cafeteria with grilled cheese or PB&Honey 🌙SCHOOL SOUP: scramble and drain one pound ground beef 🌽or any ground meat you can always make this #vegetarian with no meet and use #veggiebroth versus beef🥔 sauté one chopped onion with spices 🍅use garlic, salt, and pepper 🥕 then add beef back to pot and dump all canned veggies in with liquids, add a can a beef broth for extra liquid🥣 you can make it from scratch using fresh veg as long as you add more water or veggie broth to compensate for the liquid from cans 🌙 it literally takes no more than 30 minutes to throw it together then I like to bring to a boil first then reduce heat to simmer for at least another 30 minutes 🌽🥔🍅🥕serve with Texas Pete and crackers #schoolsoup#soup#recipe#simplecooking#cheapcooking#cookingforacrowd#veggies#cannedvegetables#texaspete#easysoup#guysloveit#cannedveggiesoup#potato#onion#groundbeef#carrot#stewedtomatoes#limabeans#greenbeans#corn#cannedcorn
Does anyone else love canned corn?
I love the sweet canned corn.
But, because of my "food rules," because of my diet, I convinced myself that it wasn't even good. It was just another victim on the chopping block. Although it still fit into my 1.5 remaining food groups that I would consume, I found out that it counted as more points, more starch, mor carbs. So I let it go. If we had it at a meal, I would eat a different vegetable.
But when I decided to break up with dieting, I brought back all the foods- including canned corn. Gawd that stuff is good.
Listen, there are no "good" or "bad" foods.
If you're following a plan that is trying to convince you otherwise, MOVE ON.
The only reason you shouldn't eat this golden deliciousness is if it doesn't agree with you or if you don't think it truly tastes good (gasp!).
