Meet the maker: Reina Rose, 23, from Philippines! I am an AB Communication graduate, now working as a Graphic Artist. I've always loved art even when I was younger. I'd draw superheroes or cartoon characters, write my name on any available surface, or handletter for friends. I got Best in Art award during high school graduation, joining Slogan and Poster Making contests (not really the best in drawing but what I lack in skills, I make up for in wit) But even with that, I never saw myself pursuing a career in Art, until I did.
I grew up saying, "I want to be a nurse someday." Highschool I said, "I'm going to be a journalist." Upon graduation, "I'm not sure anymore." Getting my job, "It's okay, plans change. Let's do this!" I know that not everything we plan comes to fruition, but we learn to be thankful of whatever is given, because it's a gift. .
How about you? What's your story?
Do NOT allow negative thoughts to poison your powerful mind. Do whatever you have to do to rid yourself of those toxic thoughts, whether it be to remove yourself from a negative environment, turn on some uplifting music, exercise, say a prayer, or call your mom. Whatever method works for you, harbor the positive thoughts and eliminate the negative ones as quickly as you possibly can.

Alright! So, I finally gathered the courage to make a series for an album that I love so much 😅💛 Ever since it was released, I was itching to make a series for it but sadly, I was in a slump for a long time so I set it aside for a while. I try to give my best for things that I love (weh? 😂) so I can't just make something when I know that I'm not in the proper condition to do so.
Anyway, things got a bit better (at least for my art) and I'm starting to gain momentum again, thanks to me pushing myself to write even if all I want to do is sleep. My desire to improve on my art is gradually returning. I'm thinking of a lot of things that I want to do. There's actually so much to do that I don't know where to start.
Good thing my 300 days in ARA is near 👀 (I still can't believe that I lasted that long there lol) so I finally thought of a project that I would love to do. If you've watched my stories for the past days or read my blogs in ARA, you would know how much struggle I was having 😂 But here I am, I pulled it off 💪
This series is focused more on colors than on my calligraphy. I kept my calligraphy simple because the highlight of each piece is the color. I listened to each song repeatedly until I finished each painting. So you could say that I painted each song based on my own interpretation 😊 (I'll just go into details on my ARA blog, I don't want to bore other people here lol)
Each piece was painted on 4x6 in. watercolor paper. I "scanned" them using my phone then added the calligraphy digitally because I was afraid of messing it up. Lol. Paper is expensive 😂
⬅️ Swipe for the bg without the calligraphy 😊
(Oh fyi, every piece in this series is for sale 😁 You can buy just the painting or you can ask me to add calligraphy to it.)

It has been a decorating heavy weekend and so I am now extremely ready for bed - not ready for work tomorrow though 😭😭😂. This is a throwback to when I didn’t have a house and had time to do fun things like calligraphy! However it is fitting for now when I say goodnight! Hope you all had a lovely weekend whatever you got up to! #moderncalligraphy
