Please....Can anyone identify what kind of insect this is/was? I found it in my bathroom. When I got close, it sprayed an unbelievable amount of microscopic brown particles. It felt like I was in sandstorm. The entire room as well as myself were covered. I finally sprayed it with a bed bug/flea solution and that’s why it looks the way it does now. #insect#bug#insectrepellent#insectidentification#bugidentification
Bug ID? Anyone? Is this guy friend or foe? He appeared at the bottom of a hole I was digging. So Cal. #bugidentification#entymology#slug ? Update: well, I went inside for a few minutes and when I came back he was gone. I guess a bird got him. (Or he’s faster than he looks.)
Ok #biology buffs, what is this? All the folks at the coffee shop were freaking out about this guy walking along the curb. He seems pretty slow & mellow. Super cool 4” long. #insect#bug#bugidentification
Bug I.D time: 🐛 •
These gross slimy looking buggars I found on my parent’s cherry trees this morning. •
They are pear slugs or cherry slugs (the larvae of the sawfly) and they like to chomp their way through all the green bits in the leaves on cherry trees, pear trees and apple trees to name a few. This naturally makes your trees look a bit worse for wear, and impacts your trees ability to perform photosynthesis and make food. •
These cherry trees were small so I manually squished all the slugs but if you have this problem too and too many to squish, try neem oil to get rid of them.
