I don’t always drink beer when I cook (no, that’s not really true) but when I do it’s always a @civilsocietybrewing beer! That IS true! Extra Extra Pulp is a double wheat ale that’s heavily hopped and weighs in at 10% ABV. Beer and Brussels!
Tried out @brickrivercider yesterday. Cider was incredible, gf food options were sparse. ➡️➡️ shaved Brussel sprout salad and cauliflower risotto were both very tasty. No dedicated fryer but don’t you worry I suggested it 😜I’ll be back but hoping the menu expands for all the gluten free people coming in for the cider.
This stuff right here. It’s powerful stuff. Before I knew I had Lyme and was reaching out in desperation to figure out what was happening to my family. I changed my diet. That’s the only thing that I could control in a situation that felt anything but. If I hadn’t seen the transformation in both my husband and myself, I would never had believed it. We both began functioning again. I was no longer bedridden. It was then I decided no matter how well I became would not I go back to some of my old ways. The body has the amazing ability to heal itself given the right tools.
That being said, I do not believe diet alone can rid ourselves of this crud. I do have such a long way to go to get into remission. But my hope is that I’ve gotten myself this far with food alone so when I actually start to treat my body will be better equipt to handle it.
🌿2 cups sautéed Dino Kale in Coconut Oil (low oxalate)
🥦 4 steamed Brussels Sprouts
🍳 2 Eggs fried in coconut oil (the-introduction)
🥛Adrenal Cocktail (coconut water, whole food vitamin c powder, pink salt)
*All served on a paper plate because 2 loads of doing dishes is plenty to do a day thank you very much! 😅
Eat your veggies!
Took the time to prepare a few things for the next few day. I don’t meal prep for the whole week because I tend to not eat what I’ve cooked. Not just that, I want my meals to be super fresh & not sit in my refrigerator for more than 3 days. They lose flavor and nutrients like that. (No-no)
Today, I cut up organic Brussels sprouts. Added one tbsp of @primalkitchenfoods avocado oil + lots of pepper and rosemary. I roasted them on a tray lined with parchment paper for 20 + minutes at 350 degrees. I also cooked chicken, Japanese yams & white potatoes. All at once. .
What are you preparing for next week? Comment below.
Secret to grilling fish? DONT TOUCH IT!
Lightly marinated with persimmon and chipotle this HUGE salmon belly was grilled on the top rack, skin side down and left to do it’s thing. Created the crispiest of skins and the marinade became this beautiful crust.
Paired it with Brussels sprouts bowls and topped with tahini vinaigrette. •
