It’s been a tough couple months and I have forgotten the basics; I’m not talking about the quick meals that satisfy my tired starving body at the end of a day. I had forgotten what it feels like to pour a glass of wine, music playing, soothed by the knife under my palm, time disappearing and my soul calm. I thought of Italy 🇮🇹 today and I thought of you. What you and I could create with love. The stories we would share over the table. It’s good to meet you again. #sundays#cooking#homemade#family#friends#kitchen#slowingdown#life#food#smile#laugh#italy#bolognese#bruschetta @glassblowingchef
There’s certainly never a dull moment in #Kenya ... today we ran out of the kitchen to see a leopard leaping down the steps #wouldnthappeninparkroyal
Here’s one of the new sharing plates I’ve introduced - assorted bruschetta with ricotta and asparagus, beet hummus and Parmesan and macadamia kale pesto with tomato and mozzarella.
African cheese isn’t quite up our standard but I’m pulling through... I’m enjoying confusing everyone with all the different countries - ceviche (Italian?) miso (Spanish?) and quenelles ... argh don’t even get me started on them!
RED ALERT: Do NOT watch food docus thinking you’d stay out of the kitchen. This is what happened to me (mins ago):
It was just a regular Sunday when I accidentally knocked my family over with a ”Snickers cake” so rich that I after eating it had to walk the dogs for an hour to not die. Sticking to Banana bread, the only sweet stuff I make with great success, from now on. Then as I was watching @davidchang new @netflixnordic series @uglydelicious it was all about pizza. And even though noone can eat I’m now in the kitchen making tomatoe sauce and googling best dough recipes. Makes sense, right? As I was anyways here I made some bruschettas ’cause Dad’s wife rocks the best bread - and then I got really curious on this German Baden white, a Grauer Burgunder, and here I am and it’s all about food and wine again even though it was supposed to be a quiet night. 🍕🍝🧀
