My New Years resolution was to be more child-like, because being a child is awesome. Aside from just having nap time and snacks whenever you want you also get to ask dumb questions and the most people will do is roll their eyes. The advantage of being an adult with a child-like mind is that you can ask as many dumb questions as you want and get the same result, but now you can go exploring whenever you want with whomever you want. And Now I only sometimes have to ask my mom if it’s okay to play outside.⠀
This adventure was more of a calling, and it kind of called me. My birthday was right around the corner and I had no clue what I was going to do with it. I’m not much of a birthday party type person, but I decided in my head that this was going to be a big year, so I wanted to have a big birthday. Around the time I made that decision a friend hit me up and reminded me about a trip we were supposed to take last year to Havasu Falls. I knew that permits were limited and that they opened on Feb 1st for the whole year which was right around the corner. So right at 10am on Feb 1st I went to their site and bought my ticket. ⠀
I remember sitting at my desk clicking refresh about once every second. As soon as I got through the kid screen I read through all the paperwork and found my dates. It didn’t hit me till I hit submit and my confirmation popped up on my screen. My body jumped with a shock of adrenaline and I’m pretty sure I squealed a little. Definitely got a few weird looks from my neighboring coworkers. This is the start to my year of adventure.⠀
My next few posts will all be from this journey.
