OHMYGOSH IM SO EXCITED FOR INFINITY WARS YOU DON’T EVEN KNOWWW.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Watching is like nature photography: You don’t interfere with the wildlife.”
“The Woman in the Window” is a welcome addition to the growing collection of suspenseful, women-led thrillers. The novel is fast-paced and claustrophobic, leading to a gripping mystery where you NEED to know what happens next. Anna Fox is one of the most unreliable narrators I’ve encountered in a while. With Old Hollywood film references galore, the novel is really fun. I read it as an ebook, but it would make an incredible audiobook.
Synopsis: “Anna Fox lives alone—a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her days... spying on her neighbors. Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, a mother, their teenage son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble...”
I FINISHED THE BOOK I WAS CURRENTLY READING!! I guess I ended up reading it in three days as I did pick it up ages ago but got distracted and then devoured like 200 pages of the book today. I loved it but in the second half of the book it just felt like there was something missing. Aka the Darkling. Oh and also if you are wondering what book I am talking about, it's Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo.
Anyway, as you can see I own a copy of Scythe which I bought earlier on this month in Oxford. I have yet to read it but I feel like I should pick it up either in the Summer or during my study break as I will have a lot of time to read.
Also I finally found out how people borrow audiobooks from the library! Yay to me. And I know that might shock you as how can a Law student not know how to borrow books from the library?😅
Anyway, the book I decided to borrow is Clockwork Angel which is one of the rereads I want to get to this year and I am already around 80 pages in and instantly I know why I love Will so much, his sarcasm is just like mine👍
Long update I know so I am going to stop now. Hope your week started great and have a great night😘
Look at that beautiful edition. This came in the mail today just because @raqthereader reminded me that Bookdepository had some offers. Despite the fact I was expecting a paperback copy and this is hardback, I’m so happy with it! :)
Note: there’s no paperback option. It was all me :) Do you prefer paperback or hardback? :)
Book 19 of 2018: Simon vs the homosapiens agenda by Becky Albertalli.
I am dying to see the film of this, so I knew I had to read the book first. I am glad I did.
It was a really heart warming read that I got totally engrossed in. I read 130 pages without stopping.
The journey the characters go on is like any other teenager trying to discover themselves and finding out who they are. Friends have secrets. Friends do grow apart sometimes, but they are always there for you.
The writing style was amazing, it was the perfect blend of comedy, love, angst and emotion. Most of the characters felt really fleshed out and three dimensional.
In fact my only annoyance with this book is that some characters were hardly developed at all. Garrett, Alice, Nora and Nick for example. Most of the other kids in my opinion. I despised Leah as a character and felt too much time was spent on Martin.
Aside from that, I was really happy that I managed to guess who Blue was and I loved who he turned out to be.
I will read this book again and I can't wait for my mum and I to watch the film together.
My overall rating: 9 / 10
QOTD: What book that has never been adapted do you think deserves to be?
(19) And another week begins. Everybody got their coffee ready? 😉 I’m actually kinda looking forward to today because we are having a pitch in at work. Strategic Monday food planning. 😋 ✨🍀📚🍀💚✨💚🍀📚🍀✨ 1. #authorappreciationmarch Amy Tan; Diverse Reads. I don’t own any Amy Tan, but for books that take you to far away cultures, Renee Ahdieh does an amazing job.
2. #lilcoverlove Water. I actually didn’t like Given to the Sea 🌊 😆 but the cover is so awesome...
3. #marchinbooks18 Fictional Sibling Pair. Lightwoods Alec and Isabel and Jem! WOOT!! ✨✨✨
4. #readlikeagirl Bookspine Poetry. I have no books with poetry down their spines. 😳😱 But again I will point to Renee Ahdieh’s books for beautiful spines. ✨📚👀, 📚🤓💜
OUR England is a garden that is full of stately views,
Of borders, beds and shrubberies and lawns and avenues,
With statues on the terraces and peacocks strutting by;
But the Glory of the Garden lies in more than meets the eye.
For where the old thick laurels grow, along the thin red wall,
You'll find the tool- and potting-sheds which are the heart of all
The cold-frames and the hot-houses, the dung-pits and the tanks,
The rollers, carts, and drain-pipes, with the barrows and the planks.
And there you'll see the gardeners, the men and 'prentice boys
Told off to do as they are bid and do it without noise ;
For, except when seeds are planted and we shout to scare the birds,
The Glory of the Garden it abideth not in words.
And some can pot begonias and some can bud a rose,
And some are hardly fit to trust with anything that grows ;
But they can roll and trim the lawns and sift the sand and loam,
For the Glory of the Garden occupieth all who come.
Our England is a garden, and such gardens are not made
By singing:-" Oh, how beautiful," and sitting in the shade
While better men than we go out and start their working lives
At grubbing weeds from gravel-paths with broken dinner-knives.
There's not a pair of legs so thin, there's not a head so thick,
There's not a hand so weak and white, nor yet a heart so sick
But it can find some needful job that's crying to be done,
For the Glory of the Garden glorifieth every one. -The Glory of The Garden //Rudyard Kipling.
I just want to thank @bforbookslut

🇬🇧: New week, new books! I bought this one last week, because I love the books from Jojo Moyes about Louisa Clark ♥️ QOTD: What’s the last book you bought? | 🇳🇱: Nieuwe week, nieuwe boeken!
Hello all! Monday's almost here but I don't really mind because I have a sleep-in day at school which means that I start after 9 instead of at 8!
The challenge for today is Garden Maze: book with a confusing plot. For me that book was When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead. Don't get me wrong, I love the book, but when I was little, the plot and writing really confused me. I had to reread it to completely understand it.
Have you read books that make so much more sense after you read them again? If so, which ones?
After reading and loving The Dry, my girl Julie (@novelthrillsandchills) and I decided it was time to buddy read Force Of Nature! I have been dying to read this one! I just love Harper’s writing style. Can we also take a moment to appreciate how stunning this book cover is?!
I think it’s hilarious that some of you have kept tabs on the books I’ve read recently that have “girl” in the title. Don’t worry, I’m also reading The Broken Girls so the theme continues! 💁🏻♀️😂
What are you currently reading?
just got back from volleyball and it was warm outside when it’s supposed to snow this week..... ummmm what😂 .
hello everyone! i hope you had a good weekend. me on the other hand, finished CP2 and cried my eyeballs out. it was death that’s what it was. i’m going to read Lady Midnight now to soothe some of my heartache😂🤧 .
qotd: favorite book boyfriend? .
mine is now Will Herondale, but people love Prince Cardan so here’s a Cruel Prince photo.
I've been struggling with editing this for a few days so I put it down and looking at it now it's not as bad as I thought it would be, so imma post 🎉
Also, confession- I haven't read LoS yet.. I see myself procrastinating till QoAaD comes out xD
It's not that exciting but I think it was a few months ago on a Monday that my friend (who immigrated from the United States) and I went to a city next by to meet a friend she had from school. It was so nice and a wonderful day even tho I struggled with English and I was such a 3rd wheel😅 but we went to the beach and asked a random guy to take a picture of us, so he did and after that he gave each of us a shell that he collected, which was super nice x
(18) Sunday. So much to do to get ready for the week ahead. Cooking, cleaning, repotting of plants... oh! And Netflix of course. 😂 ✨🍀📚🍀💚✨💚🍀📚🍀✨ 1. #authorappreciationmarch Lewis Carroll. Can you imagine how much less fun the world would have been without Alice and everyone else in Neverland? 🎩🐇🍄☕️Stuff and nonsense that is. 😉
2. #lilcoverlove A Dragon. How about three or four dragons? 🐲🙂
3. #marchinbooks18 Happy #shelfiesunday ! Picture 2 is my ever growing shelf with Jon Snow guarding the wall of books, which are now double stacked in every level. I’d say it’s time for a new bookshelf, but I just put one up and it’s not completely finished yet... 😂😂📚💜
4. #readlikeagirl Favorite Female Superhero. ✨❤️💙✨ I mean. Yeah. Of course Wonder Woman!! 😁✨💙❤️✨ 📚🤓💜
New book review up on Literary Love. The Raqqa Diaries: Escape from ‘Islamic State’ is a truly amazing book and I can’t get it out of my head. Have a read of my review (link in bio) and let me know what you think. 💛
[Final #ddalgireview ] #ObrolinBuku#Binorrow#PeekyBookTourian dari @bukumojok with @tourianpeekybook
Yayyy final!!!!! Aku senangnya baca fantasi itu makin ke tengah aku makin ngerti jalan cerita sama penggambaran ceritanya. Alhasil buku fantasi selalu membuat aku berimajinasi /ngalu kali haha
But overall, aku suka buku ini. Aku kasih 4/5🌟
Terima kasih buat @bukumojok dan @tourianpeekybook udah kasih kesempatan buat aku mereview buku ini.
Happy Sunday Funday! 📚🌎🌍🌏
