The level of how we feel about others or situations and experiences corresponds with how we relate to ourselves. ✨
So go within, but keep in mind that it's very much about giving and taking action outside of yourself to foster positive and successful relationships. ✨
So let me ask you... How well are you showing up for your life and business? How well are you relating to others? Are you delegating properly? Are you showing appreciation and support often?
8️⃣/4️⃣0️⃣• The Secret History~ Donna Tartt• 9️⃣/🔟 • This book is intriguing, clever, subtle. Tartt is an exceptional writer (I loved The Goldfinch, I’ve reviewed it before) and this book is testament to this. This book tells the tale of a group of eccentric and misfit college students who end up going down the darkest of paths to a backdrop of classics and hedonism. You constantly feel there’s more to be revealed and want to find out more. I did struggle with the last third, but was then pulled in again. #donnatartt#thesecrethistory#bookstagram#bookshelf#bookworm#bookclub#igreads#bookrecommendations#bookreview
I’m officially in a polygamous relationship with Nate and @amazonpublishing. Literally bae. ❤️❤️❤️🤷🏻♂️ Thanks for all the hot sexy upcoming reads! Now, which one should I start first? Which are you excited for? And when is it socially responsible to start drinking on a Saturday? 💁🏻♂️#DenAsksTheDifficultQuestions

Finally finished Their Eyes Were Watching and still working in Silver Sparrow! I'm gonna go ahead and start this one too ▪️
Stopped at @barnesandnoble last night and met someone with this book in her hand. I slid her my business card and told her a little about #bwrb_bookclub . Absolutely loved that opportunity to engage with a fellow #blackgirlreading 👸🏾📖✨
This can be very difficult, especially at times when we feel we are facing injustice. Always remember you only represent yourself and you cannot fight negativity with negativity so #killemwithkindness 💙✨
Welcome to Brightland, please stay for a while. And if you’re in LA, swing by @the.lev in Venice this Sunday from 2-4 pm for a @girlsatlibrary book swap, candles with @floreslane and a sneak peek tasting with us. Thank you to everyone who attended the discussion of “Murmuration” by TJ Klune! For some it was their first time to read gay fiction. We talked about the use of genre labels, similarity to the Black Mirror episode “San Junipero”, and how unappealing a too-perfect life is, among others. Majority consensus was the book was too long, and could have worked better as a novella. Average rating was 3 out of 5 stars. #FlipsFlippingPages#bookclub#bookclubph
When, during my interview, my soon to be new colleagues said ‘we give you a charity day a year, you can go and cuddle dogs if you like’ I was sold. It’s not that I’d ever volunteered previously but a company that in some small way actively encourages you to give back and be selfless (for once) seemed like a win to me. Those who know me will know that I’m never far from a book. It’s a Love I’ve never lost. It seemed fairly self explanatory that when the local library was looking volunteers I’d sign up 📚 -
I'm not in this photo but that doesn't matter. Thanks to those who came and saw Book Club. I really felt the energy from you guys. Here's to another successful reading. Thanks mumma bear for an amazing play. We have also added an uncle to the family hehe ❤ #bookclub#theatre#brothers#family#laboite#laboitehwy
“If we just keep coming back to the silence, if we keep grounding ourselves, as often as we need to, in God’s wild love, if we keep showing up and choosing to be present in both the mess and in the delight, we will find out way home, even if the road is winding, and full of fits and starts. We will find our way home.”
This book came into my life at a perfect time. I couldn’t put it down. It has left permanent marks on my life and the way I plan on living it moving forward. If you have a chance, read it. .
So, apparently I'm blind as a bat, which is weird because I don't feel blind. 🤣
Anyhow, I'm getting glasses ,which is cool because now I actually look like a real author/illustrator.
So, after twenty plus years of staring at the end of a brush and a screen, I have finally made it!
In your face real world!
So if you happen to see a guy hanging around always in this pose, it's probably me, come say HI! 😂🤣🔥👊👊👊👊

I have one section of line by line left for Hope in Oakland. So, 34,000 words left to fix. Not a lot. I cut 2,000 out of the previous section. I want the pace to be consistent with The Night They Came For Til. Every pass through polishes the manuscript more. I am caught up to my editor so this week, In the back ground that means I have to get the copyright purchased, ISBN number ordered, I am writing the author bio, verifying my author page acknowledges all the people who contributed to this book. In the background, I am very nervous to release this book. I have no idea what the reaction to this book will be. Divorce law in Canada from 1920 which I set in 1904... I took very few liberties. This book spotlights some terrible things I found in archives. So, I send it out into the world and see what happens. And keep writing. And try not to let the fear obliterate me. I am trusting @wendymayandrews and @beckyjofluker who have both read the first draft and Bec read the manuscript just after the first re write. Both said they love it and to calm down. Ok. Deep breathes. Let's do this!
HAPPY WEEKEND!!! ✨ Yes, it is back! Review up on the blog! A shortie but a goodie. So much respect for @angiethomas and her debut novel!
Finished this book last night, woke up with a bad bitch of a stiff neck, took a bunch of struggle-looking photos, and ate the cookies all to myself! And oh, because this book deserves so much love, someone is oughta make something special for it! THUG & Hood Trio represent because every single life matters. #qotd have you read it? If not, do it!
