Site job on top of one of the steam boilers at a Manchester hospital. The line to the right needed removing at a later date due to asbestos lagging. So we had to work at night when the boiler could be turned off. We removed the spool, lowered it down. Took it to the maintenance shop, cut back and welded a new 8" flange on, bolted a blank On, and refitted spool in place. Now the line can be safely removed and the Steam line can stay live.

Tough to see but in the second picture you can see right down onto the burner from a warp in the case caused by major overheating. Heat and exhaust was pouring out into the space safe to say they got a red tag and soon a new boiler 👍
