A: UWFC is governed by a local Board of Directors comprised of individuals who live and/or work in Frederick County. All members of the Board of Directors are volunteers without any compensation. UWFC is a local, independent and autonomous nonprofit organization.

Meet student nurse, Munsha Shekhani. She has been nominated by nursing students at Georgia State University for her tremendous work ethic within her organization, Nursing Students at Georgia State, this semester. “She always puts forth many new ideas and has been an excellent Social Media Director, while excelling in her studies. Munsha always puts 100% in everything she does. She is always willing to help in any way possible, whether it’s with the organization or simply offering advice to another nursing student to help them succeed.”

This month has been so exciting as far as our board of directors. Another new board member Raymond Tymas-Jones, Ph.D has joined the team. He is the Associate Vice President for the Arts and Dean Emeritus of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Utah. Keith and his wife Janelle, have six children and live in Reile’s Acres, ND just outside of Fargo. They are active in their community and church. Keith is fiscally conservative, but is willing to take calculated risks. Here is an interesting series of photos. The first is a photo of a portion of our Board of Directors in 1931. Robert Woodruff is front and center with his cigar in hand! The second is a painting done by illustrator Frederic Mizen, and note that he has added in several missing Board Members. The third is a print ad produced by the Company. Note that Robert Woodruff had himself removed from the photo! Oak City Soccer is excited to welcome Lindsay Anderson to its Board of Directors! Lindsay has a background in psychology, and has worked with the Meredith Autism Program. Additionally, Lindsay has been a Special Education Teacher for twelve years. She has a deep love for children with special needs and feels very strongly that they not only deserve, but require, the same experiences and opportunities as a child without a disability. Lindsay has loved watching Oak City Soccer grow, and is thrilled to be a part of helping it to continue to grow!
