PHOTOS FOR LEAH (1/4)
Hey folks. I’ve been off Insta for a while, but I’m back and I have a story. My sister hired me to take some black and white New York photos for her to hang on her walls. Since there are about a million different flavors of New York, I decided to narrow it down by photographing spots that have some significance for my family.
Growing up, my siblings and I all played musical instruments. I think my parents had some sort of Von Trapp family musical fantasy. We would drive into the city multiple times a week for piano, violin, choir, etc. Oh, btw, our lessons were at Carnegie Hall. Yeah, nbd. We would walk into this glamorous old historic building every week with our juice boxes and peanut butter sandwiches and spend hours playing, singing, and sometimes pretending to do homework.
57th Street is still one of my favorite spots in the city. Yeah, I know, midtown is corporate and soulless and all that. But I spent so many hours as a kid looking out a car window at this street that I can’t help but still see it through that glittery childhood lens. 🏙
