This is the memorial for the 64 people who lost their lives in the bushfires of Black Tuesday in the south east of Tasmania during the summer of 1967.
Originally the death toll was numbered at 62, but due to an error on the death certificates 2 names were omitted, but have since been added to the number of those who lost their lives that horrible day.
The memorial site is literally next door to our caravan park so we stumbled across it whilst walking tilly but it’s truely worth spending time reading the plaques, these are personal accounts of those who survived that fateful day.
Been organizing beer here at home, and downsizing a bunch. I have way too much. Seriously, I’ve got like 4 cases of stuff (not the pictured stuff) that I can’t seem to give away. Weird huh?
As part of the organization, I managed to get all of my Bruery bottles into a single cabinet. I’m sure some eyeballing, and quick math will let you figure out how much is in there, but it’s a lot.
I have way more Mocha Wednesday than I thought, less Chocolate Rain than I thought, and Black Tuesday is one of the few things I have a vertical of (Superstition PBJC and Bottle Logic Fundamental Observation are some others). I’m glad to have it make more sense now, and well, I’d like to say that I can get to drinking more, but I’ll be honest with myself and realize that this stuff is probably just gonna sit here for a few more years.
Hoarder life I guess.
