Big Finish Main Range 1
“The Sirens Of Time”
First off, let me say I love the concept. Part 2 was amazing and i loved the interactions between the 3 Doctors. The plot twists were all great as well. But damn. I don’t know what it is about this that made me say meh. It could be the pacing. It could be the story. Or, it could be the fact that there were so much information crammed into one little story that it ended up getting confusing as hell. I think that’s it. But still, there is the excuse of this story being the first main range story, so sure. I’ll let it slide. Overall, I thought this story was confusing as hell, but still pretty enjoyable. So I’ll give it a 6/10.
Finished the 3rd series of Jago & Litefoot on Spotify, having previously seen them in TV’s ‘The Talons Of Weng-Chiang’ and heard them in The Sixth Doctor: The Last Adventure’s ‘Stage Fright’. They are wonderful to listen to, a great pairing with a brilliant set of regular supporting characters. Once I start listening I can’t stop until the box set is finished. Series 1-5 are available for free on Spotify and a further eight box sets can be purchased from Big Finish. A final adventure (following the sad death of Litefoot actor Trevor Baxter) is due for release later this year. #JagoAndLitefoot#HenryGordonJago#ProfessorGeorgeLitefoot#DoctorWho#BBC#BigFinishProductions#BigFinish#BigFinishAudio

I like this story. I really do. But do I think it’s worthy of a 10/10? No. Not really. I mean don’t get me wrong, I really REALLY like this story. The atmosphere is so bleak and creepy. The characters were all fantastic. Especially the Doctor. I never really “loved” the 5th Doctor in Big Finish before but he was brilliant in this story. He was so good. The whole plot about the genesis of the Cybermen was soooo good. It was so creepy and violent and heartbreaking. I loved it. Overall it was really good. But.... yes, there’s a “but”. It’s the same situation as “The Holy Terror”. I heard so many good things about it. And I was over hyping that this was gonna be the greatest thing, and when I listened to it, well, all of the hype killed the experience for me. I know I really should listen to it again but damn, what a shame. But still I did think it was a great story and the execution was great. An 8/10.

This story. I really need to re-listen to it. I mean it was really good. Robert Shearmann is amazing. I love his stories. Now this story is basically a base for the 2005 story “Dalek”. I personally think “Dalek” was better, since I thought it had a better pace to it. But still “Jubilee” is great. I liked the whole concept of the Dalek needing orders, and, to be honest, it was heartbreaking. Evelyn and the Doctor were Amazing as usual. The whole alternate earth thing was clever. I thought it was nice. One thing that bugs me is the whole 2 Doctors in the 2 timeline concept. You’ll have to listen to know what I’m talking about but damn was it confusing. Overall, it was a good story. Just not as good as “Dalek”. 8/10.
THE MOUTHLESS DEAD
Two reviews in one day, it must be our lucky day! That’s probably what you’re thinking, well I just wanted to post another review. The Mouthless Dead, the first story in The Second Doctor Volume 1. Here’s my review.
In the beginning of the story when the TARDIS crew step out of the TARDIS. Jamie almost steps on the train line but the doctor warns him not to step on it. In the Web of Fear Jamie almost steps on the train line too. But the doctor warns him not to step on it. Shouldn’t Jamie have already known not to step on the train line because of his encounter with it before?
Do you know how the monsters in this story were defeated by? Love. Saving the day by Love has been used so much. I can’t really recall any movies or TV shows with love saving the day but I know they’re there.
Our savior Frazer Hines has returned. Thanks to Frazer and his amazing impressions of Patrick Troughton we have this and others. Frazer is god.
Elliot Cheapman was the man who impersonated Ben. He does a wonderful job at it and sounds exactly like Ben. I just feel in love when first hearing his voice. I’m looking forward to him again in The Early Adventures.
This is a wonderful story no doubt but still has its flaws. I give it a 6/10.
If you want to listen to this your self it’s only 20$ on the big finish website -
One of my favorite monsters with my favorite doctor and my favorite companion. This story is surely in my top 10 big finish Audio dramas after listening to this. I absolutely love the horror in this drama. When I first listened to this story I thought it was gonna be trash. My thoughts were turned around after listening to the first part and I fell in love. So here are my thoughts on Bloodtide
The silurians sound exactly like they did in Doctor Who and the Silurians. Plus the sound effects they use for the silurians mind powers sound like the original too. I don’t have anything bad to say about this really.
Well in this story we get to see how the silurians treated “ape kind.” We were used as cattle to the silurians. The idea that humans were used as cattle is just so horrific and that’s what I liked about the story. It has so much gore.
After listening to this the second time. I realized that the story revolves around the idea of evolution. Plus I can’t really talk about much because I’ll spoil something.
This is a amazing story and I suggest you go and check it out. It’s only 2.99 for download in the big finish store. Evelyn is amazing, the silurians are amazing, and as always the doctor is amazing. I give this a 10/10 because there is absolutely nothing bad about this story.
A special delivery arrived this morning from across the pond. (no pun intended 😉) I've totally geeked out over this series. To be fair I geek out at anything River Song. These stories are absolutely spellbinding. That last one with Madame Kovarian, what a thrill!! 💙💙#doctorwho#riversong#bigfinish#bigfinishproductions#audiodrama
I kind of didn’t want to like this. Because I like the hello you master. And everyone keeps banging on and on about how wonderful this is and everyone has forgotten hello you. But. Sadly, this is fucking amazing. Quite superb. #bigfinishproductions
