That feeling you get when you crush your 32km (20mi) long run without stopping once!
I have never finished a long run (30km or more) without stopping. Usually it’s a pee break or I’m just tired and need to stop for a moment. Today, I ran non-stop the entire run which included 10 kilometres at marathon pace! •
For my next trick, I’m going to eat non-stop for the rest of the day!
Hope you’re having an awesome Saturday!
Sun’s out, run’s out(side)! It may have been cold, but it was sunny on today’s easy 10km run! Now if some one could help me photoshop some life on those trees behind me, that would be awesome! •
Big run scheduled tomorrow! 32 kilometres with 10 at MP (4:20/km). Wish me luck!
I figured out how to keep my Boston Marathon race shoes clean! Had to hop on the treadmill today for my speedwork sesh because it was starting to snow pretty good when I got home from work.
I was listening to the @rambling_runner podcast with Brooke Adams during my run and they were discussing how speedwork feels different on the treadmill which was timely because I know I’m moving pretty fast, but my watch tells a different story!
Workout: warm-up, 3x8:00, 2:00 jog, 4x100, 100 jog, cool-down
“A setback is just a stage for a comeback.” - @shalaneflanagan •••
A few weeks ago I wasn’t sure I would be back up and running working toward my Boston goals. A hurt foot turned a few weeks of training into very few miles and no half marathon tune up race. Although I still don’t have the exact answer as to what happened, I’m glad to say I had a pain free weekday 20 mile long run today, and after talking to my coach we are going to train smart and aim for a PR in less than 5 weeks 💛💙#narkrunningstrategies#bostonbound
Today’s hill workout was one you stress out about for two days and when you’re done, you feel like you won the hill workout Olympics! I usually jog downhill, but today, I picked it up a bit to work on my turnover; very important on a course like the @bostonmarathon. The last thing you want to do is attack the hills of Newton with shredded quads!
4x Long Hills (500m)
2x 400m, 100m jog
2x Long Hills
4x 200m, 100m jog
2x Short Hills (300m)
Thank you everyone for the awesome comments on yesterday’s post! Means a lot!

This morning I woke up to my instagram being full of “Happy Mother’s Day!” And I was incredibly confused... until I realized it is in the UK 🇬🇧. For #churchoflongrunsunday , my mom and I spent some time together. I think 💭 I just needed to talk to her for 2.5 hours. We talked about Dubai and how crazy that’s going to be, my relationship and work. I told her how every step I take from now to April 2019 is all about London. How excited I get to take her back there and how tough it’s going to be for me emotionally. It’s good to be back to the beginning and it all be about being close to her again. How lucky I’ve found a way to still be with her if it’s only for a long run 🏃♀️, it’s worth it. I know she was there to tell me to keep going in Tokyo when I wanted to stop and I know she will push me in London. Happy Mother’s Day to all my British and Irish moms out there and to my mom... the woman who never gave up!! UNICORN 🦄 SEASON!!! BOSTON!!!! Time to CHASE THOSE FUCKING UNICORNS 🦄!! because it's all about those fucking unicorns 🦄 !!! Chasing the sub 3 hour marathon!! #abbottwmm#WhereChampionsRun#Westernmassdistanceproject#respecttheprocess#NBrunning#bostonmarathon2018#tokyomarathon2018#BQ#USATF#London2019#Boston2018#instarunners#BeBoston#XC#crosstraining#celiacdisease#glutenfree#dairyfree
It's been a long week, to put it simply. I'm still confident in my diagnosis, but am less confident in the progress made this last week. It was a week full of hours on ellipticals and stationary bikes in a solid effort to keep my cardiovascular fitness progressing even if it's not running.
I'm now at the stage of jogging in a pedestrian manner around tracks for far too few miles only to follow it up with many hours on the elliptical and bike. But it's progress. And despite the fact that injury never really gets easier, I get smarter and calmer with each passing one. I'm constantly reminded that in the grand scheme of things, we're all going to face this at some point or another. And further filled with gratitude when I realize that I still possess my health and independence, a simple blessing that many of the patients I see daily are not so fortunate to have. So in that regards, I'll continue to press forward.
Congrats to @arbar13 for raising the bar for all of us with his 1:12:33 finish in the Lake Sammamish half yesterday. God willing, I'll be toeing the line in New Bedford next weekend for a similar attempt. If you could send any healing thoughts/energy my way, I'll be forever appreciative. Happy Sunday.
Went on a really cool, 23 kilometre, running tour of the East end of Toronto with my buddy @dee_em_eh this morning. It was nice to switch things up a bit! Also, the sun was out!
The next three weeks will be the toughest of my @bostonmarathon training plan; in fact, they’ll be the toughest of any of my previous marathon training plans! I’m so ready for it!
Hope you’re having a fantastic weekend friends!
W10D6 of #marathontraining : 12 mile tempo run, & it felt great! 👍🏻
2 mi w/u • 3x 2 mi @ tempo pace (6:51-7:07) w/ 5 min recs • 3 mi cool down. Actual- lap 1: 14:06 (7:03 per mile) lap 2: 13:57 ( 6:59 per mile) lap 3: 13:47 ( 6:54 per mile) 🙌🏼 Feeling more confident about next weekends hilly half marathon & 8 short weeks until The Cinci Flying Pig Marathon 🏃🏼♀️💨 #narkrunningstrategies#cincinnatiflyingpigmarathon
These grey days really don’t help when you need a little motivation to get out the door! The good news is Spring is coming. Right?
8 easy kilometres today. On the plus side, it’s Friday! Happy Weekend friends!
