I think social media does crazy things to us sometimes,  it can be extremely motivating and inspiring,  I meet lots of people,  learn and try new workouts I wouldn't have known about,  and generally am more active and healthy than I'd be without it.  However,  sometimes I get caught up in comparing my body with serious fitness athletes.  My body will NEVER look like anyone else's, because it's mine.  I also get caught up in comparing my body to how lean it was when I competed - and that's not fair.  I dieted hard for a look that's not healthily maintainable.  It's not healthy to be stage lean. People look like that for a day.  Lately I've been caught up in the "I'm thick, I'm fluffy,  I'm heavier than I usually am" mentality and as a result I've been hard on myself. This weekend I did a bod pod assessment and it told me that my body fat percentage was 14.3 and for women it put me I  the "risky" category.  Now,  I'm certainly not at a risky weight (129 lbs, 5'3 1/2) but it was eye opening and reassuring.  It provided perspective.  It was a great reminder that just because I don't have a visible 6 pack does  NOT mean I'm thick and fluffy and it shouldn't cause me to feel insecure.  I'm actively working on changing my relationship with my body and battling the body dysmorphia. I used to think I couldn't post pics where everything looked perfect,  but honestly,  my body isn't perfect,  this is how I look,  and I'm gonna love myself anyways.  Good decent people will love you for the kind of person you are inside,  not the outside package. Other people don't negatively pick apart your body,  so why should you do it to yourself? And with my recent terrifying fainting/health scare, this feels especially relevant.  My body WANTS me to be healthy, happy,  and alive,  and I need to treat it well. Abs don't matter when you're dead. I'm very happy that I'm alive and plan to be more aware of the kind of life I'm leading. I'm listening to my body and removing toxic behaviors and people from my life.  Love yourself hard,  your healthy body literally loves you back.

Felt amazing to get outside today, despite the spooky weather and mist in my face 🙃Waking up early can be tough but for gabie and Me, that morning workout sets the tone for the entire day. First mile is the hardest when the body is still waking up, but the rest of the run feels invigorating and energizing. ⚡️💫We love running because it helps us clear our mind, feel grounded, keep our heart rates elevated, reduce stress/body tension and allows us to really soak in the beautiful city. #diastasisrectirepair ... To twist or not to twist? I’m no expert, but if it doesn’t feel right, or you have a large (2+ finger gap) separation, I’d suggest working on those obliques in other ways! Here is a modified side plank working both your obliques & hips/glutes (add a small ball for additional hamstring work). This “barre-style” series is so effective in conjunction with your breathing! .
Start on one side- on forearm & stacking your hips (placing a small ball in knee pocket if utilizing) - knees bent to 45 degree angle - pull abs into spine and hold- breathing normally .
Lift|lower through oblique while raising top leg open|close in one fluid motion - hold at top then start toe taps down & back to center

Use the 2nd set in video- if you want additional work in the hip/glute by toe tapping down and then rotating through your hip to tap your knees together
