Today is the first day of spring and we've got another snow storm in the forecast! 🌨️❄️It's so hard to think snow when you've had some 50 and even 60 degree days, but what are we to do! .
On cold days when I just need something warm and can't go for another cup of coffee (see my previous post), golden milk is my go-to! .
The golden hue is thanks to the spice Tumeric, which is known for its anti-inflammatory benefits and anti-oxidant capabilities. .
It's hard to get the benefits of tumeric because it's bioavailability is pretty low. In order to improve your body's ability to absorb the active component in tumeric, it's important to consume turmeric warm with fats and black pepper. .
Here is my go to recipe for golden milk: .
1 cup milk (your choice)
1 tsp tumeric
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp ginger
Honey to taste (I usually use 1 -2 tsp
Fresh cracked black pepper - start off slow and increase to your liking.
Wisk it well under low heat and enjoy! .
How do you add tumeric to your diet??
So at the start of the week if you remember, I did some “real talk” on how I was feeling.....completely unmotivated and wished it was Saturday morning I waking up too.... well Wednesday is here and I’m still alive haha no but honestly, Iv had a great week of training so far💪🏻 On track with my nutrition and Iv also finished all of my photo and video shoots for my next product that will be launching very very soon! It’s so close now and I’m so excited to release this one 🔥🙌🏻
Let's talk about transformations. It's not about perfect it's about effort. It's not just physical change it's a shift in mindset. It's a process, a journey of discovery. When you remind yourself you are resilient, strong, fierce, imperfectly perfect; when you change your mind - then you will change your body. .
Transformations don't happen overnight. They are not a destination. But when you start to see it...well that is some kind of special. .
I know it's transformation Tuesday. I know you are expecting a side by side of where I was and where I am. But I'm focused on where I am going. If you are ready to focus on where you are going, what you are capable of, your transformation - you probably should consider my upcoming accountability group starting April 2nd! Drop me a 👊 below and let's do this. . .

ME FIRST, me me me
Sounds like a little kid or an eager beaver...can be cute, or... ...might make you feel greedy, stingy, rude, out of line, selfish , uncultured, or embarrassed or shy😳
But I found that a healthy dose of ME FIRST is the medicine.
I used to let everyone else come first; kids, husband, work, school, family, friends, even the pets came before me.
And one day, I noticed , there was no me.
I didn’t know who I was anymore, I had given all of me away.
And nobody noticed. Nobody cared.
And this is when I started sneaking out for self care. I was ashamed that I’d take luxury time just for me.
I just told people; family , friends, work, that I “had a meeting”
And I did, I had a meeting in the steam room, a meeting in the yoga class, a meeting at the acupuncture, needless to say , I had a lot of meetings!
And then they started to notice, they noticed I had a heck of a lot of meetings .
Took them a while because I was still able to do what I was supposed to do... ...matter of fact I could do it all better , and they noticed I was more calm, more fit, happy, strong and healthy.
And they were proud of me, they supported me, I was a good role model , they were impressed.
And I realized, sometimes when you’re so out of balance you need to go ALL the way to the other side for a while until you reach equilibrium. 😳

Alright, I should let you know that I am in no way saying that you need to break up completely with caffeine. Unless, of course, you feel like that really is the most healthy thing for you. If that's the case, I support you 💯 percent!
I have one cup of coffee in the morning, but have cut out my afternoon cup and can definitely feel the effects of decreasing my caffeine intake. Caffeine is a stimulant and is addictive, something you may know if you've ever accidentally had de-caf in the morning! 😂 Each individual can tolerate different amounts of caffeine and it's dependent on body size and how each person metabolizes caffeine.
While research shows that there may be some health benefits to moderate caffeine use, drinking too much can affect your health and your hormones. .
Caffeine does have negative effects for people with chronic health problems, such as diabetes or high blood pressure, and studies have also demonstrated increased stress responses after caffeine consumption, increasing anxiety and causing added stress and tension. .
Another major concern is the effect caffeine can have on your cortisol level. Cortisol is your body's main stress hormone. When the body is stressed, cortisol rises. Cortisol is an important hormone and is beneficial, but chronically high levels of cortisol can cause health problems like high blood pressure, elevated blood sugars and an increased risk for diabetes and heart disease. .
So what can you do? I would suggest that you take a close inventory of your caffeine intake on a day-to-day basis. Be sure to know not only your coffee consumption, but any other sources of caffeine such as caffeinated tea, soda and energy drinks and chocolate. After this, consider cutting back a little at a time.
Your nerves and your hormones will thank you!
It’s the perfect day for a hair shelfie, right?

ALARM IS SET👊🏻
Not playing around tonight! My body is so used to waking up at 4:05 and even Ian said ‘honey you pushed snooze three times his morning.. my response??😬 I only remember pressing it once!
Just like working out, our body gets used to the same things every morning.. so ya gotta change it up.
Your alarm works the same way! My body is SO used to waking up at 4:05, I need to switch things up a bit! So here’s to waking up at 3:55🙈
But when you make working out and coaching a priority, you’re excited to wake up and help even MORE people🤗 so let’s do this👍🏻💪🏻
Also note that it’s 9pm so I’m still getting almost 7 hours of slept☺️😴
