As I scroll through my feed today I am seeing a lot of four leaf clovers for St. Patrick’s Day. I have never in my life been able to find one. Can someone let me in on the secret? It’s not like I am not searching. This has been a life long thing. Every family event my cousin @jlipinski423 would find countless. I’m talking skipping around with like 5. I would get soooo mad. 😂
Kids. Certain pup from my pack decided she didn’t want to sleep last night. Introducing coffee back in today knowing fully well I will probably get a migraine. I just can’t tell which reality is worse, the one with zombie mom or the migraine mom. What if, I’m still a zombie mom, and then I turn in to migraine mom? 😭😭
I love portlandia.
But I’ve never been to Portland.
I’m not a rapper.
Lol clearly it’s late in Austin and I need to go to bed. But a bit about this posture first. | wheel |
Personally, what works for some doesn’t work for others.
Lifting my leg up wasn’t an option and my practice didn’t include it.
Go deeper, but safe. Start small. Explore complementary postures frequently, maybe even more so.
Chaturanga’s can really be life. Don’t skip the vinyasas when the teacher says skip the vinyasa.
Have you ever seen redwoods?! Those Trees had to fight and be strong af and withstand soooo much to grow big and strong and beautiful. We don’t progress without fighting to sustain. Just try a bit each day and become really good at the small things.
Poses you will rarely see me post; The Warrior series.
I often dread practicing in public because I know these are always in an opening sequence to most flows. •
I am that person that loses balance and falls out of any of the variations multiple times. •
I know it’s totally normal to fall out of a pose, but seriously, how distracting must I be when I am flailing all over the place? So to anyone that is near me I sincerely apologize. 🤪🤪😂
Last weekend in teacher training we learned how to safely get in and out of a few inversions such as shoulder and headstands . I never do headstands in class just in my home practice and had never seen it from this perspective. I was shocked at my form and strength in this posture. I started thinking about how I would often talk my self out of things...like “I won’t do headstand in class because my alignment can’t be good” or “I can’t do a golds fit class, I’ve seen how intense and strong everyone is, I’m not that” or “I couldn’t play my crystal bowl to everyone now, I don’t know what I’m doing yet” but lately I’ve been DOING these things not TALKING my way out of them. It’s been very empowering. Im so grateful to have the lovey ladies leading our teacher training at @yogayogaaustin and to my brother @spr512 for being such great & inspiring teachers 🙏🏽💓So here’s the thing y’all: “Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it.”
More from my shoot with @shape Magazine + @practiceyogaaustin! 💪🏻 Idk about y’all, but these ladies made me want to buy some new workout clothes... and maybe actually use them for their designated purpose instead of for lounge-around-the-house wear 🤷🏻♀️
Wow, what a weekend !! .
Spent the first weekend of the month celebrating BabyRing with @inlovewithabeernerd and showering her with gifts. . .
Then family I haven’t seen in a year came to visit and we had a lovely time showing them all our favorite foodie spots and walking S. Congress.
It was so much fun that I keep forgetting today is Tuesday and not Monday 😂😂.
Happy Monday everybody! I’m getting ready to head out of town to enjoy a little spring break with the family. The sweet and wonderful @sundropyogi will be covering my classes while I’m away so not to worry! And I’m teaching one last class before I go at Yoga Yoga Westgate today at 3:30. We’ll be working on this pose so come and let’s get a little playful on our mats together! @yogayogaaustin 📷: @woongsae
I wasn’t active yesterday because you guessed it . . . Migraine. This time it was from the kiddo, she flung an iPhone full on sling shot mode with her arm right in to my orbital. I have a massive knot and my eyebrow is currently tinted blue and purple 😂😂

Hi 👋🏻 Hello 👋🏻 Remember me? I’ve been M.I.A. for a while because well... life. Shooting street style has been few and far between for me, but I’m working on re-dedicating myself to the craft. Sometimes you need a break - even from the things you love. In the meantime, I’ll be posting images from a shoot I did with the ladies of @practiceyogaaustin back in September for their feature in the December issue of @shape! I never shoot athletic/athleisure style, so the exploration into that world made me have a new appreciation for that #fitfam life, ya feel? If you’ve never checked out @practiceyogaaustin, GO! It’s donation-based and I can fully attest to how wonderful all their teachers are after spending an afternoon with them! ✨
As a side note, if you’ve made it this far into the caption, please tag anyone you see on my feed that you know (including this lovely woman!). Sometimes I get so wrapped up in talking about style with my subjects that I forget to ask their IG handles 🙃
#tbt - that time @minkmade was catching my angles and my body was glistening and sh*t. 😍🙌🏾😫✨
But it’s about that time again. @thedisconnectretreat is right around the corner and I’m really excited because we will be getting our hands dirty connecting with the energy in the land as well as diving into different yogic modalities. Our teacher/healer/speaker community continues to grow (we are always looking for more so please let me know if you have a gift you’d like to share!) The food is lit (plantbased deliciousness 🌱) and by the end of the retreat you’ve legit made new friends and added them on Facebook lol (but after the retreat because no electronics allowed 🙅🏾♀️).
I can’t wait & maybe you’ll join us this time?
The retreat is April 14-15th.

Have a great Thursday ❤️ find your chill. •
Want to have as good of a time as this crazy loon on the beach is having?? 🤔 Perhaps come do yoga with that same crazy loon!! 😄 Also I’m moving to California next week!? 🌞 And these will be my last times in the Treehouse for a while. 😢🌳 I would love to see you!!!
You don't need special equipment or skills to practice, just a body👣
Take your yoga with you everywhere and use it to function more effectively through the flow of your life🌑🌒🌓🌔 How can you custom fit your practice to meet your unique needs🤔
I am asked a lot how I got in to yoga. So here it goes.
For those that don’t know me personally. If you have followed me for any amount of time you will notice I post a lot about Wiley and doctors and specialist appointments. We celebrate milestones that to a normal person would just be a regular task their child has performed. We have been through a lot of shit.
The second time Wiley was diagnosed with cancer I was in a very dark place. I was doing CrossFit™️ and though you’d think picking things up and slamming them down would help, it was only temporary.
One morning I had some free time and randomly popped in to a yoga class. My life changed forever. I felt so in tune with my body. Every movement had purpose, every breath released the anxiety that was making it so I was unable to function for my child. I couldn’t believe that something I had probably mocked in the past could actually be so beneficial. My practice has grown since joining Instagram. The connections I have made through this platform have transferred over in to real life friends. I am forever grateful for all of you. I want to take this time to thank you for sharing your personal thoughts and experiences that have been truly inspirational to us. My goal is to always show how yoga can be incorporated in to daily life. 💛💛💛
Teaching a full length Hatha Flow class at 9am at Yoga Yoga Westgate tomorrow! Come and join me!!! If you’ve never been to Yoga Yoga but have always wanted to check it out, you can come be my guest and try the class for free! #austinyoga#austinyogi#yogayogaaustin @yogayogaaustin 📷: @thelettergrace
I've been approved to start back at yoga but I need to modify for the bulging disc's. Any suggestions are welcome! This is going to be a new experience at yoga since I've always loved forward folds and I know I need to be careful with those!
One of the most useful props for yoga is a chair. Chairs can be used for all categories of asana: seated, standing, balances, backbends, forward bends, twists, and inversions. We will use a chair for each of these asana. Please note: this is not a “chair yoga” class. You will be asked to get up and down from the floor.
Can be used for YACEP training hours.
One year yoga experience required.
