One last hurrah and my first real separation from #ourtinyhuman 💙.
Thanks to my husband and my mum, I got to wake up naturally today instead of jumping out of bed in the wee hours of the morning as if my pants were on fire 🤣 Finally satisfied my dimsum cravings; had a wonderful stay away from home and a chilly dip in the pool this morning; enjoyed some absolutely delicious food; and had a rare time of chat-n-chill with the husband over drinks.
It was nice spending time together again and getting back the freedom we once had of doing things faster, easier and at our timing (kind of). But I also missed Jemma a lot - the cuddles, the smiles, even her woeful sleepy cries. Regular reports from back home shared that the little darling was sad for most of yesterday and fighting the bottle, but thank God she finally settled a little at midnight and managed to go to sleep without too much crying. I also have a newfound respect for mums who exclusively pump their breastmilk - working around the logistics of pumping, washing and storing the milk without sterilising equipment or a proper fridge was no joke. It was a lovely weekend but I think we won't be having one without Jemma again any time soon.
@hot_hot_asian_eatery for dinner the other day- had high expectations that weren't quite met. Their banh mi $14.50 had a few bits of fatty pork on top of what looked like countdown bread 🙈so might just stick with the usual bao next time🤣 the chicken wings weren't as punchy as we'd expected but we loved the kimchi on the side. The tofu with tamarind sauce was delicious👌cool vibrant place but slightly disappointing in terms of flavour🔥🔥
Grill Sparerib & Scorch Rice - Cơm Cháy Sườn nướng
I love how soft the sparerib is. I wouldn't think this is a fantastic duo, but they prove me wrong: they go quite nice together. This is my first time trying this new restaurant (if you are hungry, be mentally prepared for the long line). Enjoy! #vietnamesfood#asianfusion#food#foodie
*INCREDIBLY EASY RECIPE ALERT*
It’s not anywhere near summer weather, but I decided to meal prep some pineapple salsa for the week anyway because I love it! (Fresh pineapple, cilantro, tomato, red onion, squeeze of lime juice)
I love it with baked fish or my caramelized pork tacos➡️Swipe for recipe! Today I was out of fish sauce, so I used oyster sauce and couldn’t taste a big difference in the finished product.
