So! Last week as I was nattering about cooking on Twitter, @chardkitchentx found me and struck up a conversation. In the course of the chat, they were kind enough to invite me to their soft opening tonight!
Char’d is a funky little fast-casual little eatery in Mansfield, TX, serving a variety of Asian cuisine. It’s clean and cute, and easy to get to on Mansfield’s main drag.
Tonight I chose their poke bowl (prepared as on the menu) and bao with pork (I did ask them to leave off the cilantro, since I am mildly allergic, but that’s the only change I made). And both were delicious! The poke bowl was full of flavor, yet fresh and light. The bao was really yummy - the pork was lingeringly spicy in the best way, and the bun was soft and tasty.
Their tea machine wasn’t hooked up yet, so I bought a hard cider to accompany the meal - the cider I paid for, but all guest meals tonight were comped. They did not request this review; however as they were kind enough to invite me, I wanted to show them some love! It was a great dinner and I’m looking forward to coming back and trying the grilled pork bowl. Definitely a DO Recommend! #foodiesnightout#restaurantreview#foodie#yumfood#asiancuisine
