Love your body for all that it can do. Appreciate it. Nourish it. Celebrate it. It has taken me a long time to truly appreciate my body & disregard the disdain I had towards it for not looking like *cliche* the girls in the magazines 🙄. At first it was those waif models back in my 2000s tween magazines, then it was the fit chicks on my IG feed. Comparison will be the death of your happiness 💀. I remember being 14 & rushing home from high school with my cousin, to compare how flat our tummies were & guesstimate how many skipped meals & crunches away we were to getting abs like a Pussycat Doll 😹 But as soon as I started to appreciate all my body has done & all it continues to do for me, you start to bathe in its glory. Round hips, short legs, thick arms 🤷🏽♀️ love it all.... The funny thing is, before being completely tainted by the media, my pre-pubescent self WANTED to be thicker. I wanted to have visible muscle and strong, thick legs. Like Beyoncé. Like Serena Williams... like Xena heh...😅👀 because they were strong & fit & radiant. And I wanted to be too ☀️💪🏽
Don't wait around for something to compromise your health, to finally appreciate how incredible it all really is.
