Had the best weekend ever. Seriously. These pictures don't even describe the half of it. But, I'm sharing anyway bc it's fun. Glorious food, great weather, and my love. Lots of time to just be. Couldn't have come at a better time. Ready for the week and the future of our family. Big goals on the horizon!
The last half of our @riversidefoodtours took us to @kungfoodchu (Ameriasia) where we dined on three unique dishes. Then we headed to @braxtonbrewco for stop no 5 for a sample of local craft beers. Such a a cool space, too! And, finally, we headed to @leftbankcoffeehouse where we were able to choose a delicious beverage and taste an amazing strawberry petit four. Seriously, so amazing. This was such great fun & we both highly recommend! I'm hoping for a nap before the kids come back home from Nana's house.
Oh my goodness. We're in a food coma now. Here are some photos from stops 1,2 & 3. @hotelcovington had amazing corn fritters and the space is just gorgeous. Cant wait to go back! Next stop was at McK's Chicks (find him on Facebook). The brisket slider was to die for. So.amazing. Our third stop was at a brand new place called @agaveandrye where we tried the Angel share taco. It was a crazy combination of fried egg, fries, bacon and bourbon baked beans. It was actually pretty amazing! Three more stops to go! Have you ever been on a food tour?
Back around 1997, my parents and sister started attending a new church. I had been away at college but when I changed majors and came back home I started going with them. My sister met a couple people at a lock-in and wanted to sit with them at church so we did... every week. The college/career group would go out to eat after services and we would go as well. There was this guy that always went and we would talk a little here and there. Fast forward to fall of 1998, we were still sitting together at church and people, including the pastor, started saying stuff to us and asking if we were dating. I guess others could see something between us that neither one of us did at that point. A few weeks later, the attraction started to grow on both side and we went on our first date. With a couple months, we knew we were meant to be and were talking about marriage. In February 1999, he proposed and 18 years ago, I stole his last name. I was in nursing school when we started dating and he has supported me through that and going back to school 2 more times. It is crazy to me when I think and realize that we have been together for half of my lifetime. Happy Anniversary @dollinsstephen. I love you and the life we have built together. Looking forward to the next 20 years with you and by that time, we should have the rocking chairs on the porch and the grandkids running around in the yard playing.
